@Coventry_City: Ward: "I wouldn't say no to staying here. It's is all about what Spurs want but if it's good for my development then it's good for me" #pusb

He is definitely the sort of player who would be number one on my teem sheet and the sort of player we need to build a team around.

He looks far too good for this league sadly.

If we stay up and if there is an option of him and Samuel returning, I would very much like it to happen.

No chance - championship clubs will want then. Both are head and shoulders above anything we've had in this league

That's why its funny when people big up the likes of Fleck, Nouble and Jackson. They are all rubbish by comparison - which is why they are here.

The guys a class above. It would be a real coup to get him for the season, but I fear Grendel may be right.

Samuel's already at a Championship club.

Grendel may be right.

Much to Tony and Astutes agitation I always am

Ward does show the vital role that a real quality midfielder plays. In the championship relegation season people all quote Nimeley as an influence but he was poor for most games. We signed Norwood at the same time and it was he who lifted the performance level to the standard required.

Others will come in for him. He's a quality player at this level.

To may be right. However, if Mowbray's still here I'd give him credit of having enough pull to bring in players like that and, hopefully, Ward himself.

And I agree about Norwood. Shame he hasn't pushed on more in the Champ.

If we somehow got those two and Mowbray we can look forward with optimism.

The loan game can make or break a season SP & Waggot were particularly poor at it the Bourmouth trio, the German were all very poor Samuels Ward & pennington have been excellent but could have done with them at the start of the season Nouble & Madine too inconsistent and their careers are falling, they were not wanted by their own clubs and we can probably see why, seb hines, luke williams were gone before we had a proper chance to see them Odelusi & Stokes - jury still out. 12 loan players in a season is too much.

About sums it all it tbh. Hines would almost certainly get in the team ahead of Martin, a shame that TM wasn't here when he was about.

I can see him being able to play at a higher level next season but equally if he's happy here and Spurs and happy with how he's being looked after and developed then who knows.

I tend to agree with Grendel, both ward and samuel are better than this league, and I can see Samuel featuring for Reading next season and ward to be loaned out to the championship.

Shame really, we've had a few decent young loan players (PVA, Warnock, Norwood, Cork, Henderson, for eg) over the years, but we've never managed to get them back the next season.

Going to game this week and have not seen ward play for us yet - really looking forward to seeing him as has earned rave reviews....need him to have a
stormer on Saturday anyhow.

All comments on Ward and Samuel are true but to be fair we are a league one club and it works that way for all teams generally in league one get good
player in breifly then they move onto bigger and better things .....our problem is that most of our loan signings have been duds......hoping with TM we may get that
right and have two or three quality loan players at the same time!!

Spurs will let him go on a season long loan, but to the Championship.

Don't misunderestimate the power of a relationship. If TM has the relationship with Spurs then Ward may well come back for a season. I cannot see him coming for longer than that.

Agreed. It doesn't really matter to Spurs what level he is playing at so long as they are happy with how he is being treated and the progress he is making.

Having a manager like Mowbray will be a definite plus in trying to get a player like Ward back for next season. I'm sure they would be much more confident having him play under someone like that than a manager learning his trade like Pressley.

Are we that desperate for a GK?

no, it is how we sell ourselves to him. What Ward and Samuels need is competitive football, regular game time, neither can be guaranteed that at a higher level. They would get that here barring injury or an absolute total loss of form. Not only have they the opportunity to get game time, but at this level they would be key players, a real chance to shine and show what they can do. Look what one season at this level did for Calum Wilson.

we can attract these players if we display the right attitude.
