on Newsnight tonight, first interview since his suicide attempt . I genuinely hope this bloke gets the help he needs and , for me , deserves. Always comes across as articulate, intelligent and a genuinely caring fellow. The heavy scarring and bruising to his face made the whole interview more tangible in terms of what depression really can do to its victim. I hope he comes through this and can get on with his life.

I hope so too but read an article recently about the driver of the lorry who hit him. He's had a breakdown and is still off work as he can't come to terms with it all.He has had no support whatsoever so he's a victim also.Clarke needs serious help as he could do it again but sadly the driver gets nothing at all.

This is always the missing bit isnt it, the person affected by this apart from CC. Sadly CC was probably in a poor state to actually appreciate this fully given the fact that he was prepared to end his life

Clarke stated on the programme that he has attempted several times to contact the lorry driver via the police etc without success .

Yep a poor bloke's life has been ruined by it.

Heard a Carlisle interview saying how great he felt now though.

Am I the only one who thinks he's a dick? Just never warmed to the fella.

Regardless, depression is a horrible thing to suffer from and I genuinely wish him well going forward.

Without sounding hard it shows that to try and take your life but involving innocent people too has to be the most selfish thing a human can do.Look at the pilot of the plane who took 150 innocent passengers to their deaths because he wanted to end his life. Depression is a serious illness but to bring other people into your misery is cruel and wrong.
