Tried to save my mate from drugs for years. Paid debts for him, got into fights, helped him move house, got let down, time and time again. Decided ultimately to just wash my hands of him as it was affecting me and my family. 6 years later, he contacts me, t - total for 2 years and a changed man.....

Sometimes, you have to abandon the ones you love?

Fair play KD, sounds like your mate is one of the lucky ones that have managed to battle the addiction. Uplifting news. :)

Drug addiction is so debilitating.

My season ticket money is going towards a holiday abroad next year. One of the easiest decisions for a long time. Thank you Joy .

I'm separated from my beloved Sky Blues at the moment. Like they're in a coma. . It's touch and go (unlike the football). Hope they come through.
Meanwhile, I've noticed I seem to drink less when we win than w.hen we don't

I think CCFC are turning me into an alky.

There is no point remaining in an abusive relationship. Being taken advantage of over and over, being constantly lied to. By far the best course of action is to sever all contact as this - in the long run - will encourage a self reliance which is sustainable.
