Fleetwood bigger budget than Coventry City (1 Viewer)

That's what SP said on the radio ? There must be some money in cockles ! Bit of a poke in the eye with a sharp stick for all those harping on about our large 'comparative' playing budget. The hedge fund have stripped us out to the bones and I expect they will continue this in January to fund 2015's legal actions !

Fleetwood are privately funded by Andrew Pilley, an extremely wealthy geezer who happens to be a fan. Look at their rise over the last few years; why are people surprised they'd have a bigger budget than us? Those harping on about the comparative budget are quoting Pressley, a man that probably knows about the budget better than most.

They have a wealthy backer, players like Steven Dobbie who can't even make there first team is probably on 8k a week. It isn't sustainable for them. No one has tried to claim we have an automatic promotion budget, its just people blaming the budget/investment everytime we lose even if its say Crewe is pathetic.

But we are owned by a supposedly wealthy hedge fund from Mayfair ?

So they should just spend money the club don't have and bankroll it themselves? Only for it to go pop and the club to be left with massive wage bills they can't afford if they decide to stop funding it?

I'd really be interested to see a genuine comparison table though of what we are working with and how it fits with our overall turnover.

According to the website Transfer MARKT the combined value of the two squads are as follows CCFC squad 25 value £5.32 million. Fleetwood squad 27 value £3.26 million. To me that means more players on less money than ours so I cant see where Elvis is getting his figures from unless he is talking about transfer budgets. If he wants to get the maximum effort from his budget he needs to go to the lower leagues and try and buy a few nuggets who will relish the chance rather than buying or loaning mercenaries from higher divisions on silly wages that just go through the motions, Madine being the only exception in the recent years.

I wouldn't believe Transfer Markt seems to be completely made up values.

I doubt our squad is worth 50 pence let alone 5 million so I'd take those figures with a pinch of salt.

It rates fleck at £440k.....he can start talking to other clubs in 10days time and leave for free in 6 months time. Thomas worth £220k? Really?

Money that is in effect gifted is not counted in the ffp figures, therefore a chairman such as the Fleetwood one can give the club money if he wants to.
Thats my take on it anyway.

Pretty sure it is if it's equity not a loan.

I thought you could put money in as equity but not as a loan?
