HS2 will mean Aston Villa need a new training complex (currently in Warwickshire, AKA 'The Coventry Area':thinking about:).

We could go into partnership with them. They could fund the training complex, and a 50/50 spliut on a 10k seater stadioum. Villa could use it for reserve games, us for first team games.

We could fund our contribution by selling Ryton, closing our academy, and giving Villa a free reign to claim the academy 'rights' for Coventry and Warwickshire. Then we set up a partnership where they lend us the promising youth players for first team experience, and those Coventry kids get to play for a Coventry team as they develop, before going on to bigger and better things with a top flight club in the region...

not a good idea and one that would consign us to always being in villas shadow. The long term aim of ccfc has to be top end championship or at best premier league football. With us playing at a training ground and having no youth set up to profit from like we did with wilson etc we would be doomed to being a feeder club forever.

I think some people forget coventry is a huge city and growing and we should never despite the problems make decisions that are as short sighted as you have outlined.

It's not the numbers, it's the types of people though isn't it. If you think 000's of mainly oriental students and 000's more Eastern European and African migrants to the area will have an immediate affinity with it's sports clubs then I think you are being a bit hopeful. Even long standing residents struggle to interest their kids in teams that are not glamorous. Coventry must have one of the most disloyal populations in the country. I fear that this will be demonstrated when Wasps come to town !

I didn't realise Coventry was the only city with an immigrant population.

The current situation with the Ricoh will mean the best we can hope to become is a league 1 & championship yo-yo club.

Right back to the day their throw if the dice of an instant return failed and they went on a mission to break even like normal (non football businesses) do. We were only going to be a division 3, Division 2 yo yo team.

You didn't exactly answer the questions. What happens if we have debt loaded against the club and miss out on promotion? No owner of a football club puts money in and doesn't expect it back.

Sometimes you make mistakes in business.
Sisu need to decide whether to sell now and take the losses, or continue to make further losses.
They are now at the top of their cycle.

I think Muhammad Al Fayed barely got his money owed back when he sold Fulham and IIRC that's probably because he never charged Fulham a bean in interest.

But lets be real here. SISU Have put in absolutely fuck all. Most of the debt that has been generated is for interest and charges awarded to themselves. What they paid out in wages they got back from a few decent cup runs and selling the family silver.

They should just go....

I feel sick just thinking about this but i suppose it is as bad as the current situation, just still cannot get over the fact that a rugby club moved into our home and we have just let it happen..... i know its not a simple as that but thats what is boils down too. We shouldnt be looking for a new home/build one we fucking had one!!!
