http://www.npo.nl/vpro-tegenlicht/26-10-2014/VPWON_1219696

A Dutch Film Crew have made this documentary on supporter v owner situations in England which includes the Coventry City saga as well as:
FC United of Manchester
Cardiff City
Portsmouth

David Conn of the Guardian appears extensively in the footage.

Although the voice-over is in Dutch, all the interviews are in English so you can follow the gist fairly well.

Ignore our part in it and listen to the FC United fans:thinking about:

Yes not bad 2000 supporters raise £6million to build their own ground but they still don't have enough money to finish it at he moment.

Funny how Sisu are going to build one with training facilities hotels, restaurants, leisure facilities etc for the same price?

Great watch. Cheers for posting the link :claping hands:. Makes you wonder why none of the UK TV companies have never made a documentary like this :thinking about:

Good sound track too. Love the Joy Division.

It was made by Dutch Public Service channel the lady that made it makes lots of football documentaries funny she doesn't even like football. The film was to show the Dutch what could happen to their clubs if they follow the English model.

Yes me and Jimbo had a good chat with her on the hill that night. She said the dutch dont realise what could happen to their clubs when these "fancy" owners come in and do what they want.

We have some big ugly fans at the city.

Leave the Girls alone Steve.

On a more relevant note ,It seems the generational divide was evidenced to a degree In that Documentary .

With FC UTD In particular the Drivers of their Set up were In the more mature bracket .

Seems there are many of us who could be Clones on the appearance stakes .

IT's almost like we're dinosaurs harking for the old days and old ways .

The younger Gen seem to accept/Buy into the modern Game, including the many Ills of over commercialisation Poor Owners etc .

As evidenced by the Wasps move It seems Inevitable that In ten ,twenty ,Thirty years ,Sport In general will become transient in terms of where It's community will be .

Of course we'll all be gone by then .

Should make the Role /Job of the Controllers /Entrepreneurs much simpler.

I fear you're right.

Progress? Of a sort. Not for me I suppose. Just best hope the Werthers Originals compensate instead.

Your right, even if you look at the people in the crowd at FC United the majority are on the mature side.
Sign of the times I am afraid, but a good Documentary though.

Brilliant doc.
Sadly, because of corporate domination of the all media, you cannot even imagine a UK TV company being bothered to make such a program. Or a uk tv audience any longer having the where with all to engage.

Yes it's a shame if you could phone in and vote then it would be number one for the making.

You make a valid point. The pacification by all media has to be a factor. The way kids are being led down the garden path is shocking.
