The majority of us like a drink before and after a match and even at half-time but on Saturday against Preston I've never seen so many fans leaving well before the end of the game to head on back to the pubs, and when I got back to the Wheatsheaf a large group were in there supping away and they'd left at half-time.
So supporting the Sky Blues can turn you to drink ? No wonder I felt rough on Sunday !

Pretty certain playing for the Sky Blues can turn you to drink.

never drink before or at a match myself.

Is that a decision about going to the game or do you not drink at all? I've always thought of a few beers as part of the whole experience.
Do some people drink regularly but not at the footy?

I agree as to me it's all part of the day. not saying it's right or wrong but something I've always done.

At least ACL are honouring the drink wise campaign. You'd have to take £100 cash to get slaughtered in the stadium at those prices.

See your point, but I can live with the prices in truth. It's not as though I'm going to have more than one or two in the ground. The frustrating thing for me is how slow the service is, and how few outlets are open. Regardless of whether it's ACL or the club that benefits, they could do a lot better if they got themselves organised.

If people do want to give you money for overpriced crap, and clearly they do, then it's daft not to set up properly to take it from them!

i do drink but just never felt like i need to if you know what i mean. some people think of a weekend without beer is a nightmare but its no big deal to me.

so for a sat game drinking before 3pm makes no sense to me as i walk tog round from my house, at the ground i cba to queue and after i go home.

if any of my friends supported their local team then maybe i would go pub!

dont get me wrong though i have on occasion met old pals at casino.

We always have a good drink when we go to the game and to be honest i have left early a few times mainly to get a taxi more than anything else but i certainly dont make a habit out of it. The only game where we left really early was home to Palace a few years ago, we went 3 down in about 30 mins, we didnt come back after half time.

I like a good 6 or 7 pints before a game, don't usually bother at h/t or after the game but , some of the guys in block 15 were well sloshed.maybe on other things too i'd suggest.

£4.50 a bottle of beer total rip off, no wonder the pub was full. Never drink at game because of the long drive back home.

I'm just too tight to drink in the ground ..be it soft drinks or alcohol..I don't get how people can moan about ticket prices.. Then pay £4.50 for a bottle of beer..

Good job I only have a drink at away matches:D.
Mind you it was £4.50 in the club at Rochdale.

But it is not the ones who drink at matches that are moaning. It is the ones who are not at the match therefore not drinking in the ground ether.
I moan about the price of tickets but still go they really should do cheaper prices for those on Job Seekers :D

Don't you know anyone who is a student... I get my son to buy my tickets with his student card... That's why I can't wait for the self scan to be working at the Ricoh again.. So I can go as a pensioner

So just to be clear then, it's not OK to moan about ticket prices - but it is OK to cheat to get in more cheaply?

As for the beer prices, I've got the choice whether to drink or not and the quality of the beer at the stadium has been fairly consistent (poor, warm, but contains alcohol) since I started drinking at the Ricoh (the day it opened!). That's somewhat different to the football, which has got progressively worse. I obviously daren't stop drinking now in case I'm classed as a fickle alcoholic, as opposed to a die-hard pay-anything alcoholic. Imagine the shame. ;)

I always have a drink before the game. Sometimes have a drink at half time. Then I have a good drink afterwards when in Coventry. A day out with the lads without having a drink just doesn't seem right.

Well if they cheated they wouldn't have to moan..it's a bit like going on a plane .. Why should children pay less they still take up one seat..

So why pay for your luggage on a plane depending on weight as the weight costs them money when a 2st kid has to pay the same as a 30st adult?

Rip off Britain. Rip off beer prices. We still pay though.

Erm... using that logic shouldn't the club be charging children, seniors, and students the full adult price. Alternatively, the club should perhaps insist that all concessions should sit on a full-paying adult's lap? ;)

If you're cheating to get in cheaper, then it suggests to me that you've got an issue with the ticket price whether you moan about it or not.

Personally, it's often the best part of the day, which is a shame.

Without the beers I had with my dad before the game, and with friends after the game on Saturday, I would have had a very boring/poor weekend. I look back at the cost of the PNE game, and the good times I had before and after the game made the weekend personally, not the game :(

With regards the Ricoh's beers, I'd happily pay up to £3.50 for a cold pint/ 500 ml bottle of lager/cider. But £4.50 for a warm (330ml is it?) bottle is a joke IMO, so will be very unlikely to buy one. I don't mind spending £10 or so at the ground, but won't be ripped off with overpriced warm beer.

As a big fat git I whole heartedly agree...I am sure Ryan air had plans to charge fat people more..

I'm just one of those people who likes to think they are getting a deal.. That's why I sell motor homes..and have sold second hand cars for a living..there's nothing feels better than a quick profit or a good deal.. Probably why I don't drink at the ground

The other way round does more damage, yet the pump fits in a diesel :thinking about: makes more sense to make the petrol pump unable to fit in a diesel filler

But I really have no knowledge on the subject. Honestly
