Hello ladies and gents,

It's my Dad's birthday on Saturday so rather than paying £50 a pop for a return train ticket from Preston to Coventry, I have said that I will drive us down the M6 to yourselves. Now, I've had a look on the Ricoh website and it says there is 2km parking restriction around the ground to prevent fans parking in residential areas, which is fair enough, I'm just wondering where will be the best place to park, bearing in mind I will be buying my Dad a few birthday drinks. ;)

Good luck for the game by the way, I'm hoping for revenge after Franck Moussa's screamer at our place last season in the 97th minute!

Tesco car park. Right by the ground.

There is a restriction whereby you are supposed to spend £25 at any of the shops in the retail park. Barriers are manned, but not always, so it's a bit hit and miss. Also, the barriers are usually unmanned at the end of the game anyway.

Plenty of shops if you do want to cover yourself and spend the £25. There's Tesco, Game, Carphone Warehouse, Next, New Look, Boots, M&S, Decathlon and cafes and restaurants (Subway, Starbucks, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Frankie and Benny, Chiquito).

So just save your monthly shop until you hit the ricoh .. Then you get free parking and a chance to save on all your groceries and a cracking game of football !!

So as long as I spend £25 I'm ok to leave the car in its spot for 3 hours or so?

Yes. I park there every home game.

What I do is just go to the game. When I come out the ground I look and see if the barriers are manned. If they are I go and buy something or just browse in the shops until the security are gone. If the barriers are unmanned I just drive off.

Only twice have I had to spend the £25.

you wont need to spend £25 worse case the blokes in orange leave at around 6 so if they are checking just go grab a drink from tesco or somewhere else and wait them out most the time they just direct traffic anyway and are not bothering to stop everyone.

Very true. They only randomly stop people going through anyway.

Haha, knowing my luck they will see the big PNE sticker in the back window and stop me.

Think they are usually gone by 6 anyway, so you can always grab a bite to eat or just go look round the shops.

We've had 2 home games at the Ricoh so far and both times security have been on the barriers pre game, but were nowhere to be seen at the end of the game.

What you could do, and its just a thought.... Is take the sticker out! I reckon you could buy another for a lot less than £25.

Cost is £4.00 to park the car and the club is not bad at all good cheap drinks
