People aren't queuing up to by CCFC, a club that has continued to lose money for more years than I care to remember!

I recall Richard Keys saying Preston Haskell 1V would soon be taking over, years ago! Bumped into Michael Byng a couple of days ago?

Football is in a huge financial mess thanks to SKY/Murdoch, Agents, Vastly Over-Paid Players, Far too many Overseas players and they way those running our game have made it so easy and allowed business men to buy into our game.

Where will it end? In tears I'm afraid.

The rental model has never ever worked (particularly now under FIFA's FFP Rules) and never will.

Sorry but if it's not the club or their owners buying & owning the Ricoh, then it has to be a new stadium!

arent we 15 months into a 3 year plan to build one ?

You really are naive .
CCFC will always rent a stadium from someone be it ACL or SISU.

So lets finance and build a new stadium :thinking about:

Also aware of meetings by a senior official at the club with surveyors, highways & transport department & environment etc. etc..

Let's just wait and see how things develop.

They've managed to meet with all them departments without any knowledge of the covering local councils? And you accept that statement to be true? You really are gullible.

tbf, you can always meet unofficially.

Not sure FOI is as helpful as it's sometimes made out, there are ways around it...

(that's not, incidentally, to say I believe it! But it doesn't give you the definitive answer by any means)

I've heard of local council being bypassed straight to country council before such as the rugby bypass but never straight to government department. If something that was as controversial as the rugby pypass (and believe me as a local when I say it was controversial, rumour was that it was all rugby cements idea and they went straight to WCC and got it in place because they had sites around the Warwickshire countryside as a carrot) so sorry, but to suggest that a hedge fund who's spat it's dummy can go straight to government is a nonsense.

I didn't say they'd go straight to government over the heads of a local council...

I did say that you can, however, have unofficial meetings to sound people out, and FOI doesn't necessarily give you the required answers automatically.

If, as RFC believes that they've been talking to whoever from these departments then that would be exactly what they'd be doing.

Mind you it could have been as short of a telephone conversation as "can we talk to you about a new sporting venue in a certain location" the reply could have been as short and sweet as "talk to the local authority first, goodbye" and in the world of spin that we've been living in it's been peddled to the gullible as progress.

I wouldn't go that far, he seems to be impressed with people with power at the club, and takes their word over anything anyone else has to say. Hopefully he isn't being taken advantage of.

Fair enough, I'm being a bit too nasty to him, but I don't see why anyone would just believe what SISU say, after all recently several judges haven't exactly agreed with their arguments.

I suppose he just believes he has to show 100% loyalty whatever.

tbf a counterpoint is no bad thing. The nature of message boards make things become FACT just by being said time and again, and it is worth having another perspective.

Problem is the delivery makes you more prepared to believe ACL!

Incidentally, it used to happen a fair bit when Robinson was involved at the club, but flatter a few people, make them feel important and involved, let them into a 'secret' is a fine way of building loyalty. tbf not really convinced SISU have ever done this(!) but I suppose we all bring our outside perspectives into this in some way; none of us really see the 'truth' do we, more our own prisms ;) and maybe RFC is a good way of holding the mirror up to ourselves!

I'm not the business owner and haven't seen their long term business plan, however like many others have talked to JS as recently as last week.

Are you aware that another lot of questions have been asked under the FOI act. And all councils anywhere near Coventry have said there has been no contact about building a stadium or even plans of any sort. So either you have been fed shite or you are trying to feed us shite. And I know which one is favourite.

I don't think so.

To be fair it is like your attacks on CCC
can look like you are defending SISU. It works both ways and that is what starts all the stupid arguing amongst ourselves most of the time.

Listen you couldn't afford to stay at Sixfields went back to ACL begging to come back took a deal that even I thought was terrible and you're building a new stadium:facepalm:

The only way a new stadium would make sense to anyone. Would be if an individual had an interest in the building company. Or a personal commission based target that would achieved through such a development.
It is is in no possible way a good thing for CCFC.
Also the figures don't add up when compared to a mutually agreed long term rent deal

Funny how you attack everything CCC is that because you yourself work for a neighbouring council and are taking out your frustration over the border?

Like you with the Council, I guess.

No because the Wasps have always been Nomadic.
Just looking for somewhere to lay their hats.
Just hope it is not here...
Nothing about clubs being upped and moved?

I find your comments strange and confusing! You say you don't trust SISU which is fair enough but how can you trust Coventry City Council?

Their track record is just as bad (if not worse), ruined the City Centre through lack of investment, closed Livingstone Road Swimming Baths and are now closing the only gem they have left, the Olympic Size Pool in Fairfax Street.

Do they really want CCFC at the Ricoh, personally I don't think so!

Unless of course they can choose who owns the football club

If we remain at the Ricoh CCFC will always be second or third class citizens, in fact maybe even further down the list of CCC's & ACL's priority list!!!!!!!!!!

You are insane. Seek help.
