Good spot Stu and as you say interesting reading, sounds a bit toothless TBH a bit like Uefa enforcing a transfer Ban on //Barca .

I don't like how the PL prevented them redistributing fines to teams from the Champ, how Is It their remit to decide ?:jerkit:

The Football League won't do shit. They've already shown themselves as beyond useless with our situation and others such as Leeds/ Wimbledon in the past.

Totally agree, they wont have the balls to back this up however QPR are a fine example of clubs spending well beyond their means for many a year.

They're a London club. It won't happen.

If it was someone like Scunthorpe or Rochdale it would be interesting to see what would happen.

Didn't the FL say at one point that they monitored clubs budgets on a quarterly basis ....... if so the over spend should have been pretty obvious at the end of January transfer window and action should have been started then....... Instead they are considering action after the end of the following transfer window..........

Just says to me that the FL is poorly governed and acts only in the interests of its members not as a regulator of the game

otis are you saying there is a north south divide really

Nope, I'm saying it is London versus the rest of the world.

My daughter is with an agency and they are based in London, but have a northern division in Manchester too. They therefore have a Southern Division for the South and a Northern Division for people from the Midlands and anywhere north of that.

A couple of months ago the agency opened up their books for the Northern Division and had a stack load of applications from people in North London. I kid you not.

this explains the level of fines that should be levied ........ £54m in the case of QPR

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29129536

It also seems the FL are prepared to sit and wait until QPR are relegated again if necessary

It is wrong that clubs gain an advantage by ignoring the rules, but they can only do this if the FL have no proper means of regulation. Who is it that sets the rules and powers ...... the clubs. Clearly the threat of a fine is no real deterrent even for a club making huge losses (£64m in last published QPR accounts). There is no regulation if it is not meaningful, then enforced properly in a timely manner

Given the many things that keep going wrong at the FL (not least their hopeless part played in our own situation) you have to wonder how the hell the Minister for Sport can stand in Parliament and keep a straight face when she said she was confident that the FL were working hard to get things right.

Personally I do not think they have much idea, their decisions often do not take in to account the consequences, decisions are made for self interest not the good of the game, and lip service is paid to the real people that matter - the fans. Then have the nerve to claim kudos for decisions on crises like our own that they played no small part to create and prolong. You couldn't make it up could you!

Their focus is on the "integrity" of the competition for its members ....... perhaps if it was actually focussed on the game, fans and finances football might be stronger in the long run.

Real football real fans - do me a favour ....... real self interest real hopeless more like

It's their money let them spend it how they want the whole idea of FFP is flawed, I wish we had owners that want to spend like QPR but also have the personal wealth to back it up Amit Bhatia is not short of a few quid and I wouldn't mind being a pound behind Lakshmi Mittal even Fernandes has boat loads of cash.
