Just stay as far away as you can from the Bradford Arms:eek:

Yes, do that.

It's awkward as the ground area is now 100% asian = no pubs. The nearest good ones will be full, some with security, go to the Lloyds bar outside City Hall, loads of room for you, you can't get lost and only a 20 min stroll to the ground via v.busy (safe) routes.

Lloyds it is then, thanks for the help.

What's with all this 'is it safe' nonsense? Its Bradford, not Kabul.

Although i suppose they could be mistaken for each other quite easily.

What is the pub like opposite the old fire station Saltaire?

Sorry, I can think of at least 4 central "old fire stations".........everywhere central is safe, but the good ones like the City vaults, The Sparrow, City Gent will be totally packed, you won't get in. The Corn Dolly is an ace ale pub, v friendly and you can see the ground from it. Bolton Road, 10 mins walk from the centre. The only dodgy area for you is immediately outside the Bradford Arms on Manningham Lane, the yoof, wait there en-masse. Just say "boo"!

How many you expecting in the home ends saltaire bantam?

Enthusiasm is lacking.........but it is the first game and v Coventry not Crawley and with walk up's I'd expect about 12-13k homers.

Didn't the Bradford Arms get burned down in the 2001 riots (along with other white owned businesses)?

Sorry Saltaire I think I meant the one at the lights (which used to be a roundabout). Is it the old tram station?

The Old Tramshed Tony, that's Saltaire (World heritage site) and a nice part of Bradford! It was excellent but has now been taken over by a chain and is, er ok. It's renamed The Hop....

I forgot about Saltaire, it has 3 excellent pubs, Fanny's Ale House, Titus bar and the Boathouse, all within 5 mins walk. It's a great place to booze, you can get taxi to the ground, £5. Tbh I spend far too much of my time in those 3 bars. ;)

Just avoid the The Bradford Arms, they give it as an away pub but it's probably one of the most run down places I have ever been to. Some good pubs towards the town or on outskirts, generally the Bradford people are decent folk.

Cheers Steve, we'll be heading towards town for breakfast and a pint or two
