A bad week - but tomorrow we make our voice heard (1 Viewer)

jimmy hill - never give up.jpg

On Saturday we have the chance to make our voice heard thanks to the phenomenal efforts of the Sky Blue Trust - and when you see the ’87 Bus, Lady Godiva leading the march, bands and banners and all the rest, remember the Trust are all volunteers doing this on top of jobs and everything else

We really hoped we could start the new season back at the Ricoh but with sisu not engaging in negotiation, the Football League as much use as a chocolate teapot and acl drawing a line in the sand over the £590,000 owed by sisu, it looks inevitable after this week that the Northampton fiasco will continue. In the coming weeks us fans will again have difficult decisions to make, which no supporters should ever be faced with

But for tomorrow the choice is simple - we stand together as City fans and make our voice heard, or stand back and do nothing. kcic knows what it'll be doing so...

Come rain or shine, tomorrow we'll be at the march and rally and let’s give the loudest rendition of the Sky Blue song we can to tell the world we stand together and we'll sing together 'til this game is won

The biggest paragraph for me and why I don't think I will be going. It's so sad. No one cares.

I don't want to cause unnecessary hassle to the guy or his family right now but Jimmy Hill did indeed give us up didn't he? He went off to be a telly pundit and packed in Managing us just as he got us to the Old First Division.

City Till I Die!

I hate SISU, I'll never attend another football match, home or away, Ricoh or not, until they have been expunged from our club.

So it's not difficult decision for me, however I will attend on Saturday.

At least he left us in a better position than he found us, doubt you'll be able to say that about SISU

Most certainly & the misses is even letting me off shopping to go.

Wow she's a keeper mate. Not a goal keeper I may add lol

Good luck and I'm in still 2 minds whether to go. I want to because of pride and being a coventrian and a ccfc fan but then I don't because as fans we have been treated like shite and sisu or the fl or even ACL will listen to is after the March so it seems pointless.

The atmosphere will be a bit like a match.. that will show you what SISU are denying the people of Coventry.

and upon doing so, left us a stronger club and a united fan base.....unlike...

Yes, but he has gone down in history as the guy who came in changed things, brought people into the ground and got the club talked about by most of Coventry even the non fans. All his mistakes or disloyalty, as you infer, mean nothing in comparison to the good times ( that's how it goes - selective memories ).

What we have now is the complete opposite. Tim Fisher and Joy will be remembered not for cost cutting, reducing the rent liability, getting rid of expensive mediocre players etc., but for getting us relegated, humiliated and moving us to Northampton.

That's life, but give me another Jimmy Hill again any day...

It might have been clownish but it was true, and humorously put too - all you might want from a post really.

Did we find that out? I stopped paying attention after Fisher said it wasn't a goer before talking to Michael.

Honestly I completely agree with much of you say, meant no real criticism of JH and agree you have to take the whole track record into perspective - where he started with us, where he left us etc - some good points made here supporting this. I just thought the Poster put up by the OP was a bit cringeworthy that's all. I think it's only me that feels it and I feel churlish to admit it but I get a bit creeped out by some of the Happy Clappy desperate cheeriness of some of the kcic strands. Some of it feels a bit lame and scoutmastery and embarrassing to me. Mind you, the Nazis had the trendiest uniforms and brand identity so maybe being right isn't about being cool is it?

I sincerely hope not - Lancaster.

Never Fear, if you truly care even though you are away why not find a park near by the town centre and march in from there? It might seem pointless and futile seeing that we don't play in Lancaster but, er, ...ah.

As you were then.

I have family who live in Lancaster who support cov. I am sure they will join you in your "park march" .............

We continually get bad week after bad week.

Can you imagine what a good week would be like?

A good week can only be
Returning to the Ricoh. That would be like winning the FA Cup and avoiding the drop from premier league all on the same day!!

No, it would be like returning to the Ricoh. A great big half empty, souless bowl incoveniently unwalkable from just about anywhere in Coventry where we always used to lose at. We would still have no money and be in League One. Lets get this into some degree of fucking perspective.

Ricoh Area is a great stadium. Stadium design nothing to do with lack of atmosphere. That's down to the Coventry fans themselves who are hardly passionate or committed enough for the size of the club and city. However due to the pathetic record of Coventry its hardly surprising the crowds are lower than you would expect of a city the size of Coventry.

We are in league one because of SISU. We will stay in League one or lower unless we move back home.

IMHO, Ricoh 2/3's full had a better atmosphere than Highfield road did in the many of the later years of HR.

Ricoh Arena isn't that hard to get to. I think people have got soft. 30 minutes walk for a lot of Coventry on the North and East side of Coventry. Yes the west side its a bit futher. Plenty of buses go there. Not everyone lives in Coventry anyway.

I judge "the Northampton MOVE AS PURELY a commercial tactic by SISU" similar to that the JR Judge said about Rent withdrawl.

Put it this way.

If someone said 27 years ago. You can have a FA cup win but you will have to move to some crap place in Northampton in the future to serve some commercial tactics
or
NOT have our glorious day in the Wembley sun in May 1987 but stay in Coventry forever.

I would definitely take the LATTER.

The only thing to contradict myself is the FACup is permanent and SISU are just a TEMPORARY nightmare.

We will be back to the RICOH one day.

SISU will eventually leave or maybe even liquidate Coventry City but they will NEVER win , Coventry CITY will survive in some form.

Just no idea what your problem is or who you represent.
