I liked clinton too, i got the feeling that he said what he felt & sometimes that git him in trouble, but like him or hate him for that, at least he wasnt saying one thing and doing another like most in this Business!!

SWFC fan here, I posted when you were first relegated to League One. (Sorry to remind you!). I just wanted to pass on more words about Reda. Funnily enough I haven't actually changed my profile picture for years on here. It is the Benin flag with Reda Johnsons face on, so it hints at how highly I regard him. As a 19 year old Wednesday fan, I haven't had much to shout about but I can honestly say that in the several years Reda was here he had become my favourite all time SWFC player. He's just mad! I've never seen a 6'3 left back completely flatten strikers, run up the field and belt one into the top corner before! He's such a monster on his day. I do hope he recaptures the form he showed for us when we were promoted from this league because he was such a pleasure to watch. He's can be ruthless in the tackle (not dirty, he's a very honest player) and he can be lethal in the opposition box. It was probably right for him to leave us, with our takeover we are looking onto bigger and better things and if you couple that with his injury record it did make sense for us. I will never forget the passion he showed for us in some of our darker times and some of the outright belly laughs he gave us for all sorts of reasons.

So, in short, you have a fantastic addition to your squad. A player that gives his all and is just a complete handful. You used to see him in the centre forwards position half way through a game. When Dave Jones was manager he was asked where exactly does Reda play (bearing in mind he's a left back on the team sheet) and Dave Jones just replied....' Well............................................ we just let him play where he wants'. :claping hands: That just sums the man up.

For a 19 yr old, you do your club proud young man. Great review and we look forward to seeing him play.

PS. I've always favoured the blue and white side of the steel city over the red ;)

I'm guessing if he has been brought in as a centre back on the left side the Pressley doesn't fancy Seabourne. If he has been brought in as a left back then it makes sense as to why he let Blair Adams go. Offers more defensively whilst also bringing a goal threat from set pieces. we are staying to see cover for more positions and I would only expect to see one more defender come in with 3/4 strikers and maybe a centre midfielder IF we can move Barton on.

I'm also a fan of Wednesday over United. Was at Uni with a lad who was a massive Wednesday fan, think he currently owns a healthy food takeaway called 'Nourish' in Sheffield now.

Many thanks, and without being too biased the more morally decent folk do seem to prefer us over the Blunts. ;)

I've been to Nourish a few times, it's pretty unique!

Johnson said: "I'm delighted to get the deal done because it's a huge club. I'm really happy to be here.

"I'm looking forward to playing games for the club. I will always try my best to help the team and make sure I'm at my best every time I play.

"It is a young team here and I'm here so there is more experience in the side. There are some really good young players here and I've been really impressed with what I've seen so far.

"I don't have a best position. I can play left-back or centre-back but I will play wherever the manager wants me to play."

The defender has an impressive goal-scoring record from defence, having scored 18 league goals in 75 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday.

Johnson hopes to improve his defensive skills under Sky Blues boss Steven Pressley and also contribute with goals.

He added: "I'm looking forward to working under Steven Pressley as he was a defender. It was a big motivation for me to come here.

"I'm sure I can work with him and get better. He can pass on his experience to me and hopefully I'll improve as a player.

"I've played centre-back since I was young but I've played left-back for the last two years so the manager can choose where he wants to play me.

"I've scored a few times for Sheffield Wednesday and hopefully I can bring that to my game here. I'm just looking forward to getting started."

Yes, Reda. Because all of our other defenders have improved playing under SP.

Imagine how many we'd have conceded last season if they hadn't...

I'd love to know how the club sells itself to potential new players. Presumably the question of the Ricoh is raised during talks. I wonder what positive spin they put on it to attract the signature, and whether the new players are given hints of a return.

Having watched that and read one or two Wednesdayite comments, he's going to be a fans favourite (but who goes walkabout - not sure how that fits in with tightening up the back four!!). Let's hope he's the new Mo Konjic (or at least somewhere within touching distance - only ever one Mo)
