Seems to me that a lot has been forgotten due to the excesses of legal battles and contentious fall outs over the Ricoh Arena.
The fact is we still have a football club playing in the league this coming season and buying and selling players, building a squad for a promotion challenge (says Pressley) so while the debacle continues over the Ricoh, are we at least grateful for small mercies?
I'm not suggesting we pat SISU on the back but at least on the football side they have been doing the right things under a new manager for some time now. What a pity then that Ms Sepella can't find her way clear to at least consider an immediate negotiation with the council over a temporary return to the Ricoh that has no strings attached on a vastly reduced rent or (perhaps free rent so not to alter their stance on ACL or jeopardise their case in anyway) and look to mend relationships that may lead to better understanding on both sides of the arguments which just might lead to a long term future that could involve the Ricoh?
You certainly are no closer to any solution while playing in Northampton with a defiant attitude.
I would like to see the council/ACL make a clear offer themselves directly to Ms Sepella on behalf of the community they represent and to ensure the stadium is used, the local businesses benefit and they will get 100% support from all supporters I'm sure.
SISU can only benefit - but there in lies the elephant in the room....this would also benefit ACL the very company they want to distress. However what I don't see is even with ACL busted what is the end game? What makes SISU believe that in any way ensures they have the first shout on obtaining a new lease or a form of ownership of the Ricoh themselves ahead of any other interested groups? And if it's not about this, then what is it and why would taking us to Northampton have any other bearing?
