[h=1]Reading Join City Striker Chase[/h]

If Coventry City wanted a bidding war for striker Callum Wilson then they certainly seem to have got one with Reading the latest club to be linked with the player.

AFC Bournemouth have reportedly come back in with a second bid as they look to replace Norwich-bound Lewis Grabban while Wolverhampton Wanderers are also being credited with an interest.

Nottingham Forest are now unlikely suitors with new manager Stuart Pearce having signed two forwards this week but Reading's interest will add to Wilson's price tag.

Based on his performances last season, both when partnering Leon Clarke and playing up front on his own, Wilson is certainly capable of holding his own and more in the Championship.

Reading want to sign Coventry City striker Callum Wilson.
Royals have already made contact with the Sky Blues and registered a firm interest in the 22-year-old frontman who they see as the perfect replacement for Adam Le Fondre, who was sold to Cardiff City last month.

Getreading understands they are one of four clubs who have made approaches for the forward who scored 22 goals last season during a breakthrough campaign in League 1.
But with Wilson valued at close to £3million, any move would have to be subject to cash-strapped Royals being taken over.
Coventry development director Steve Waggart said: “At the moment our view is that Callum is not for sale.
“We have had approaches from four Championship clubs who are keen to secure the services of one of the best young strikers around.

“As it stands we have rebuffed and rejected all offers that have come in.
“We’ve had what I would call four firm enquiries all together, comprising two written bids, one quite firm verbal offer and one indicative enquiry where they have said they are interested.

“They are all Championship clubs, which is to be expected to be honest.”
It is understood that newly promoted Wolves are one of the other clubs also in for Wilson, as are Bournemouth.
The Cherries are currently believed to be leading the race for the frontman who was named Coventry’s player of the season last month.

Bournemouth have already had one seven-figure bid rejected and yesterday they returned to the Sky Blues with an improved offer as they look to find a replacement for Lewis Grabban, who they sold to Norwich City for £3 million.
With such rival interest in Wilson, Reading will need the club’s ownership situation to be sorted quickly to have any hope of landing the striker.

Royals’ chairman Sir John Madejski and chief executive Nigel Howe showed an Asian consortium around the stadium yesterday who have now entered talks to buy the club.
But Vibrac, the offshore lending company who are now handling the sale , are putting interested parties off with their high demands.
Before the Virgin Islands based lender, who are owed over £10m by cash-strapped Royals, took control of the sale, Reading was on the market for just £1, plus the overall £21m debt.
But now Vibrac are believed to have considerably raised the price tag, scaring several interested groups off, including Indian businessman Mohit Burman.

Let's be honest, did any of us here really expect him to still be at the club come the start of next season? I'm astonished Sisu even rejected the first bid. The fact there's now potentially a bidding war would be great if we had owners who reinvested, but we can only be honest, we know what the outcome will be eventually. *Sigh*. Thinking ahead...Jordan Clarke starting striker next year?

I'd jump ship if i were the lad. Really good chance to play for championship clubs....and lets be honest does anyone see us getting promoted in the next few seasons? Best of luck to him, shit for us but best of luck to him.

Truthfully you have to give Callum one heck of a lot of credit for how he's handling himself during this. You say a chance to play in the Championship but you can also add to that a better wage and the opportunity to play infront of more than a man and his dog every week!

Absolutely. We don't even have a player called Callum Wilson. Lying bastards.

It's more lies and spin from SISU
