As we all know our predicament is all about the ownership of the Ricoh. Should CCC own it as they got it built? Should SISU own it as they have invested their investors money in our club?

To me neither should own it.

CCC haven't put money into the build. They have sorted out the finances though and helped our club when we needed it. But they should keep to what they are in place for. And that isn't running a football stadium.

SISU never put a penny into the build costs. They may run our club but why should they be given it? But our club is also enough in debt already. If the arena had to be paid for it should be for our club, but our club can't afford it. And IMHO how could we trust them to own it whilst our club would benefit from ownership?

My idea would be to hand ownership over to Higgs. The arena seems to be making a profit. If our club was in place it would certainly bump up the income and profits. Our club would be able to play at the Ricoh rent free. A certain amount of the profits could be taken for loan interest and also capital repayment. Once the loan is paid off Higgs could start to get their money back. This would be much cheaper than SISU would get/charge our club for financing buying the freehold. The rest of the money could go to our club. And once everything is paid off all profits could go to our club.

So what could go wrong?

SISU not happy as they don't get the freehold? They have said they need the money for our club. It would be the cheapest way of it happening. They would get earnings and free rent for no outlay. We would find out how much it is the truth on them just wanting the income for our club.

Higgs not wanting to do so? They have already supplied our club with training facilities and given our academy a home. They exist to help the people of Coventry and surrounding areas. They would eventually get their money back. And they would then become an even bigger part of the community.

CCC not able to gift the freehold? A long term leasehold of say 125 years to Higgs for a token payment should be able to get around this.

To me this would be the best way to go. Our club would have a secure future. CCC wouldn't have the running problems they presently have. SISU would have rent free and F+B. Or we would find out which side is after more than they say they are.

you start a thread but seem angry at replies?

alrighty thennnnnnnnn

Angry?

The Higgs family are well known to be big supporters of our football club both going to games and financially. But yet you seem to not have a clue.

the same family or aquaintences that tied balloons to cars to add to bad blood? same family who keep coming out in press with childish remarks to ensure that negotiations will be strained?

same family who started a BS courtcase and came back with a slapped arse?

same family who dealt with council to scupper a sale to sisu?

they are no cov fans.

I'd like to see a world free from famine and war. Where hunger is only a word in a book. Where kindness, peace, love and opportunity reign for all the multi-coloured citizens of the world. And I'd like to see Wilson stay and see out his contract.

The council members should all step down from the ACL board, certainly. At the moment their interests as councillors and their interests as ACL board members collide significantly.

Multi coloured citizen? Is that like a Zebra?

Wilson to see out his contract? Asking for too much there.

Admittedly, I think we've got more chance of the peace, love and opportunity thing.

id like to see cov play at the ricoh permanently.

Just because we played every game away this season it don't mean we can play every game at the Ricoh when our club comes home ;)

Which councillors should step down from the ACL board? Or do you expect ALL of them to step down?

Better question might be which councillors are actually on the Board of ACL?

I'd like to see that lass that presents The Voice with no clothes on.

Both officers (employees) of the Council not Councillors at all. Reeves is no longer an ACL director any way

Maybe if you search the internet you can find one of those pens where the clothes go up and down then just stick her face on!

Oooh, I'm right on it!

Why should they step down? Are they war criminals?

No I don't think so. If that is the baramoter for morality and decency I think Tim fisher and joy seppella will be around for a while as well.

I might want SISU to detach itself from CCFC, but I have never called for any of their select to be culled or given gardening leave.

I don't agree with their business practices and just wish they would keep them in the US.

Martin Reeves, Chief Executive of Cov City Council (cockneyish...not a local, but hey ho, we all come from dubious roots) and Chris West ....high up finance bod at the LA (good bloke), though think this process has caused him a lot of sleepless nights....he has Council finances to oversee, as well as all this sh*te to deal with. You can see why this is wearing from a Council perspective - in the big scheme of things, the Ricoh is just a pimple on the backside of their overall finances - albeit a very visible embarrassing one! :thinking about:

*sigh*

As councillors, they want the best for the city - CCFC being back is clearly favourable from this point of view.

As ACL board members, they are legally obliged to get the best for ACL - including getting as much money out of CCFC as they can. They are LEGALLY obliged to do this.

This isn't a criticism of them as people, I haven't jumped out of Tim Fisher's lap to post it, it's just a fairly obviously difficult situation for two decent people to be in. You really can't say anything that's even a vague criticism of ACL on here without ridiculous knee-jerk reactions...

It should belong to the people of Coventry and the fans and nobody else.

And no-one in the City should have to rely on food banks either. Go figure.
