When's his contract up?
Already got your fingers crossed that we will sell him no doubt.
Bafflingly, he actually signed a new one this season:

To clarify 2015, but the club have an option to extend to 2016

Of course not but that record in our league makes it almost inevitable for most teams let alone a team whose history is that they sell player of the year almost every season.
Can I just say regardless of whoever our owners are or would be, we'd probably be selling him anyway in the Summer.
Nature of the beast of being a League One club.
How much do you think we will get for him? If he had stayed fit do you think we would still have a play off shot or were we doomed as soon as Clarke was going?
We'd probably get £1.5m, that's over £2m in the kitty if you add in the Clarke money.
You'd need two strikers plus replacements for Murphy and Moussa out of that. That's doable I reckon.

Why can't he stay and win promotion with us next year?
So many reasons, so little time!
Give it your best shot.
I think a 'touch'e' is in order.Size of debt;
Size of gates;
Size of squad;
Size of income;
Size of rivals' income;
Past history of club;
Off field club problems;
A short career and the ability to earn more;
Personal ambition;
Confidence in his own ability;
The knowledge a poor season from him next season could see him in the division below;
He's swotted up on the career of Tommy Tynan;
The current lack of anything approaching a squad for next season;
The overachieving this season;
The overachieving this season, but still not winning promotion;
The awareness 20 league goals in a season makes him rare, one of the few genuine '20 goal a season strikers'
A liking for the seaside;
A liking for Brighton Rock;
A desire to play in front of a crowd;
A need for the club to stem losses (the whole point, they say, of forcing the issue in the first place) and the ready ability for them to do so with a marketable quality;
Personal differences with midrepro
A lack of invite onto the SCG;
A desire to market himself for a top flight move.
And on and on and on.
It doesn't have to mean taking sides to be realistic, and accept we have no money, we will be getting no money, and to expect a promotion challenge next season is remarkably optimistic, when nothing has yet to suggest such a thing!

So one good season in League 1 under his belt and everyone thinks there will be a queue of clubs wanting his services for a million plus?
How did that go for Leon Clarke by the way?
He's had a good season, once at this level. he will remain here. Have another good season and a few will take notice but who has a million plus down at this or Championship level?
SISU would have to replace him and that would be so difficult and costly. Why can't he stay and win promotion with us next year?
More than a few are already taking notice and its not the one good season they are looking at... Pace, power, decent finisher and age makes him a real prospect. As for comparing him with Clarke, CW is a different player his movement is better and attitude is also much better than Clarke's.. Lastly don't kid yourself Prem clubs have not seen him, i know 4 clubs are sniffing 1 prem, 3 championship and all know his contract and wage.. Its going to be very hard for him and the club to turn down the money that will be offered, don't expect anyone to believe me but this summer along with Christie will be at a higher level club...
