Well with juke not injured what does everyone think the front 2/3 are going to be?

I would like to see

Juke macca
Baker
With Roy O'Donovan coming on in the second half with his pass to run at a tired leicester defence.
But I can see him starting with Roy with macca behind.

Yea i fancy ROd up top with Juke....makes sense to keep the midfield the same to be fair

I have a feeling ROD will start on the bench & be brought on in the last 30 for his pace against a tyring defene, maybe even a surprise appearance by the Tree to start. We are so short of options!

Think it could well be McSheff and Jukebox.

Really don't think ROD will start.

Surely Sheffers will stay in the wee hole as Eric Black used to say! We could do with Bjarni Gudjonnson tomoz.
I think it will be juke and rod.
With Jane and Freddie on the bench.
Unfortunately zippy and bungle are still injured.

Scary to think ROD who made 1 app last season despite being brought in be Hoothroyd is expected to lead the line this season...

you're an idiot

Agreed.

Everyone now seems to happy with him in the first team 11.

You really are an idiot! How many pages are there dedicated to clutching at straws link with Le Fondre???? Surely that alone at the very least implies we're unhappy with our current options including ROD????

yes very much a case of lowered expectations!!! or has the lad not been given a chance???

To be fair he hasn't really been given a chance, but for Hoothroyd not to have given him a go after signing him and seeing him in training everyday when the team was in desparate need for pace last season is disconcerting. Thorn also didn't give him a go last season over Juke, Freddie, Platt or Baker, McSheff (he can play behind the strikers) so hardly a glowing endorsement from him either.

RO'D has not been given much of a chance but from what I've seen of him rightfully so. I hope he proves me wrong but he doesn't look close to being up to the task imo.

If we push Macca up top, then we lose something in midfield, but I think it's our only viable option if we are to have any chance of upsetting the odds. More importantly I hope we don't collect any silly suspensions (refs are usually heavy handed at the start of the season) or worse still injuries, because then we would be propper fkd!

Team for tomorrow?

Murphy
Clarke Keogh Cranie Hussey
Clingan
Bell Thomas
Baker
Sheffers Juke

Bench:
Dunn
Wood
Cameron
Birgy
Baker
RO'D
Wilson

A lot of people on here seem happy to slot him in the first team 11.

I thought Platt was injured?

We're not saying ROD is an automatic choice..just one of 2 options: it's him or Baker in the hole with Sheff up front-and that means Gael or Thomas in CM. Myself, I'd go:

-------------Murphy---------------
Keogh-McPake--Cranie--Hussey
------------Sammy---------------
----Bigirimana------Bell----------
----------McSheffrey-------------
--------ROD-----Lukas-----------

But I think AT will either go for Chistie at RB, Keogh at CB, and perhaps maybe Baker ahead of Gael. As Gael didn't play at Cov Sphinx, and was quality against Norwich, he'll get the nod. Still worried that Lukas and Bell won't be fit to start, though :(

Why are we suddenly raving about Aidys judgement because he didn't rate ROD-he picked Platt ahead of Lukas! He also didn't play Hussey, Sammy, Bell and Sheff when they were available at times last season. The 4 best players under AT. Maybe ROD can do the same as them and prove his judgement as poxy as I think it was?

EDIT: sorry wrong thread-but my point is, without ROD playing we weaken the rest of the side when we really can't afford to.

BUMP

Can anyone tell me as I am unclear - did we play 1 or 2 strikers today.

IMO I think the answer to this could be Platt and Juke with Mcsheff in behind.

Apparently we played 2 up front while we had 11 men. I say apparently because I barely noticed McSheffrey was on the pitch.

Well, I was close-only he chose Baker ahead of ROD, and trashed our shape with Sheff all over the shop. Not that it's any consolation
