Question to the SISU out brigade (1 Viewer)

What would be your position if SISU managed to get some investors? Would you still want them out?

Also (added as an edit), why would you want them out? The only mistake SISU made was running out of money (many did during the recession!) - Ranson made all the decisions on the football side of things.

SISU may have kept us afloat but it would seem that they have made poor business decisions from the start.

I'm not particularly SISU out so not really who you're aiming at but with or without investement I'd like clarity on what they would use the money for and the long term plan. To be honest if SISU has said at the end of last season that we wouldn't be signing anyone as we've got no money and need to prepare for the financial fair play rules I wouldn't have minded and would have viewed it more as an 'all in it together' kind of thing. My biggest problem with them is that pretty much everything they say you have doubts if it's true based on track record and we have no idea what their plan is, we just get things like 'we're covering the bills till the end of the season but might have to sell someone'.

We need someone financially stable to run the club which SISU most certainly are not at present, yes we would all like a man city esque backer but this is not going to happen!!

I'd prefer the club to be run by people that care about its plight ie Hoffman, but if SISU were to find investors and wanted to take their CCFC (or SBS&L) investment seriously again then of course that would be better than the current state of affairs!

The thing is though, SISU are made up of investors so why do they need external investment? It just seems like they want to get some money off other people to spend / keep to cover their losses.

They don't seem to grasp that to make money we need to own the ground / we need promotion. Didn't they come out and say that investment could happen depending on how we do on the field?

Its not worked for SISU, time for them to jog on...

Its no different to you going out on a friday night spending your money, and waking up on a saturday relalising that Fri night was a crap night out and a waste of time.

So, on Sat night, you try to get your mates to come to the pub, then let them buy the drinks all night, and at the end of the night, you hope to have had a good time at their expense.., whilst along the way, you tell them you will be doing things to impress them, but in reality, you just slump in the corner and lie all the time.

Ranson made all the decisions on the football side of things.

I would disagree with you here: Ranson certainly didn't vote to sell Scott Dann, Danny Fox and Conor Thomas. SISU simply lacked the bottle to follow their original business plan, and we now predictably find ourselves in dire straits.

the fact that they don't want to use their own money (or rather that of their various funds) would surely set off alarm bells to anyone considering putting money in. I would love to see how they pitch investing in CCFC. "we're losing £6m a year, have no assets and don't want to put any of our money in" wouldn't really sell it to me!

That's one of the things that puzzles me. If they were expecting instant success with youngsters with potential bought for peanuts, then they're idiots.

Ranson was doing a good job, he just needed more time. What's more understandable is that they suffered so much as a result of the credit crunch that they had to put aside money that would have been added to CCFC's budget.

No, they said they would only continue to fund our losses if we do well on the field, which is far worse.

Couple of reasons they may be looking for outside investment:

- The current investors don't have the money required to buy the stadium/get promotion
- They want to spread the risk around in case the club goes under

I will give you the full amount, 30 million, but I will want 30% stake in the club....

(cue the camera pointing to the freeky eye chap, who says "Thats more than SISU want to give away, they were looking to give away 0%")

What was YOUR view on MM, BR, GR. ?? They got hung by the city fans but this shower of shit have robbed the fans shares to a man and have brough the club to a stand still.

If you want to TAKE OVER a club or business and you promise to deliver then your fail. DO ONE!

I think they understand that well, they have the money to achieve both things but as it stands they've invested/spent/wasted £30m so far, and for what? And it's widely believed that purchasing the 50% option on the stadium wouldn't make us enough money to offset the cost of buying it for years (perhaps 10 or more).

It's taken £30m to get us in this shape, how much more do you think it'll cost for promotion (and that is never guaranteed) - if it was my money I wouldn't risk it on football.

Well yes, but I'd argue the managerial appointments have harmed us more than having to sell those players. If we had the right managers then I doubt we would have been finishing 17th every season.

GR, BE, MM, GH, JE are all to blame for this mess. They put the club in this position, we were fortunate that SISU took us over and have bankrolled us for the past 3 years. No doubt without them the likes of Dann and Westwood would have never graced the sky blue shirt.

They GAVE over to Sisu because Sisu told them they would invest in the club and get us up. Sisu DID NOT DO THAT. They ran the club on a shoe string from month 3 onwards. YOU MAY SAY that you would not invest in football if it was YOUR money, WELL Sisu F88king DID say they would so whats your point now??? How can you defend the shite mess that they have created?? Even IF they had got 50% of the Ricoh by now but we were in DIV3 i would say fair enough but they have SOLD EVERYTHING we had EVEN the TWATING season tickets for next season have been taken to CASH CONVERTERS!!

I know promotion is never guaranteed but at the minute surely they can see we are more likely for relegation where they will lose even more money.

People were slating that Thai guy on that TV show saying he was a crook, but he had the right idea to buy, get promoted and sell for profit.

Utter bollox.

They were minutes from admin. SISU was a better deal for GR et al then admin because admin would have sorted out the debt with the bank first and the board second.

In fact GR tried to take over again (hidden in another consortium) to try and save his money, money he had loaned to us whilst charging interest at a time we were £60m in debt - debt ran up by him and his cronies!

Managerial appointments involve an element of luck, no matter how big a club you are. As well as the Dann, Fox, and Thomas decisions, I would also argue that we've failed to keep key players (King, Westwood, Gunnarsson) by letting their contacts run out. The refusal to sign players like Henderson, Cork and Carroll beggars belief. I'm sure we wouldn't have finished 17th with a team like this:

Westwood
Cranie - Dann - Turner - Fox
Clingan
Henderson - Cork
McSheffrey
Carroll - Jutkiewicz

Subs: Ireland, Keogh, Gunnarsson, Bell, Eastwood

To be fair that was SISU's idea as well! It's easy having an idea, it isn't easy to complete it and that's before you consider just how fucked this football club is thanks to Robinson.

Scam

I do kind of agree with you, but Coleman had a decent team and money to spend and achieved jack. And the Boothroyd appointment was appalling. All well and good looking at Carroll, Henderson etc but we couldn't afford to buy them.

This gets said a lot but is it actually true? Didn't they just say if a deal didn't go through by a certain time they would go into admin, it didn't actually follow that they had to did it? I've always thought it was a tactic to push GR into accepting the deal when he wanted more than was being offered.

Spot on, so why can you not add Sisu to that list??

Yes. There was a deadline for 5pm set by the Football League - I think the deal went through around 4.45. If it was up to Robinson he'd still be in charge as we type trying to get his money back.

Is that not what SISU are doing now when it comes to GH?

No, because SISU can do what they like - it's their club. Our debt is 'in house', in other words we don't owe any outside companies.

The bank forced the football league's hand, they were demanding their money and CCFC couldn't provide it - it was similar to HMRC and Pompy last season.

How come we keep getting Transfer Embargos if we don't owe money to anybody other than SISU?

Dinyull

If SISU refuse to pay - or can't afford to pay for transfer fee's they get a transfer embargo. Would be the same if Man City refused to pay for Augero - even though they're the richest club in the world. Transfer embargo's aren't based on club debt.
