Hopefully pressley will work on pressure and getting the ball as far away as possible when under pressure.

We are giving away far too many goals from defenders trying to bring balls down in dangerous areas or suicide passes or trying to do too much.

How many goals could have been prevented by a defender just kicking the ball out of the ground or into touch to let us get back and into shape to relieve some pressure?

Not his style though. Watched the highlights of the u18's against Bristol city and the best goal was started with dangerous passing around our own box

Passing is fair enough, an example is Clarke yesterday when he tried to control that suicide pass under pressure. It would have been amazing if he brought it down and turned their player but if he wasn't sure then he should have put it out.

How many goals is being fancy costing? I'm by no means saying pressley out etc, just surely when under pressure just get it out.

A good stat would be how many goals from individual errors we have gifted compared to goals that were just down to good play from the opposition.

It is about making the right choice for the situation. Sometimes just kill the ball, play the way you are facing and put it into touch.

Re group and defend the situation.

Paul McGrath Man Utd and Aston Villa was great at it. Keep it simple.

I'm all for keeping the ball rather than launching it and I like our philosophy, it's judging when to try and keep it and when to lauch it though. Hopefully these errors will be ironed out.

Same here. A bit of the dinosaur mentality of some fans coming through in this thread.

The players will only learn when and how to play it out by encouraging them to play it out.

How many times have you seen us under pressure in the last 10 minutes, keep hoofing it up only for it to come straight back?

We let in goals because we're not very good at defending full stop. There's no need to change the entire ethos of the team to stop it.

I don't mean hoof it like that, I mean when under pressure like Clarke was on Saturday and tried to bring it down and sometimes when they are the last man trying to take on players or turning them and getting into the shit.

I'm not saying give it to the centre half to just whack it, but if you have 2 strikers closing you down on the edge of your own box and you are the last man, don't try and take both of them on.

Nick- You are correct. If your decision making is suspect always clear your lines & re-shape. No one ever scores against you from row 'Z' or 70 yeards down the pitch.
(you know what I mean). It's got nothing to do with dinosaur football.

The amount of times we also got ourselves into shit by Murphy trying to play Beckham type balls through tiny gaps and they intercept and have a decent chance :(

Bit of a dip and I wonder if we're being caught out after a good start or are the team being affected by off field situation.
Sorry but I think it will take an enormous effort to reach play offs and there are some good sides in front of us.
Can anyone help us get rid of Sisu????.

Did Joy Seppalla tell Maguire to do a dodgy back pass to Clarke and then tell Clarke to bring it down instead of putting it out of the ground then?

SP wont change his tactics. It creates a fun exciting brand of football which we are all enjoying. I agree with smashing the ball out etc though, simple really.

I love the style of play under Pressley, but Maguire should have just played it into touch rather than give Jordan that terrible bouncing pass. There is a time for row Z ocassionaly
