So will the suspension of one Pressley's many young starlets Connor Thomas it looks like Adam Barton will be getting a chance one again but, I dont know what everyone else views are on Adam Barton but when he comes on he doesn't seem to commit to any challenges and his passes were below par does anyone else think maybe we should give a chance to perhaps Lewis Rankins or Billy Daniels when he's fully fit again?

Another bonehead who wants to slag his own players off. He didnt play against Bradford. Should he have made a few more tackles sitting on the bench eh?

He's got the technical ability, hope he comes good.

And yeah, he didn't play against Bradford.

I'd personally opt for Daniels over Barton, as long as he was back to full fitness!

But I trust SP's judgement
I've got a feeling that SP will opt for Daniels over Barton.

Don't rate Barton at all, would much rather see Daniels given another chance. Maybe Elvis is giving Barton another chance to impress with a view to maybe moving him on?

pressley won't play barton with fleck. we are struggling for a holding midfielder, moussa could play in there and daniels can play wide imo

Only if was in there to purely ping the ball about, we'd get demolished defensively though.

yer, a "holding midfielder" usually "holds". Moussa either scores or gives the ball away.

This would be one step away from sticking him in goal

I guess that's what makes the game so interesting. I thought when Barton came in for fleck, he played better than Thomas. He wasn't great, but Thomas was worse.

Right well Pressley clearly said in his interview after the game that Thomas' yellow card will mean he calls on Adam Barton again.

So Barton will be starting tomorrow

Until Barton gets a sustained run in the team to gain full match sharpness you will not see him at his best.
He does not play the Conor Thomas type game of breaking up the opposition attacks, his game is to create chances for the strikers which he excels at.

Is it? He has 1 assist so far in his career.

that's why he doesn't fit into the system alongside fleck, its not so bad if flecks out and he plays but cover for Thomas has to have workrate, barton isn't that sort of player

Barton's barely had a chance and everyone expects him to slot right in.....

If you where taken out of your job for 6 months after a long lay off would you think you could be 100% at the drop of a hat????

His only problem is we've been so good.......

Give him a break.... PUSB's

I have some sympathy for Barton. Touted as a potential star very young. bad injury in a tackle I believe. That can leave a psychological barrier.
Has come to Coventry. Shown some skill and can score a good goal.
Hasn't been a regular. Needs game time and a feisty terrier along side him. He now needs to take opportunities and kick on, make it happen for himself and us. A kick up the backside for Fleck and Thomas won't hurt. With Daniels, Moussa and Baker we potentially have really good midfield options.
That's my opinion and I wish him luck.

Woo! Let's slag of our young players!

Isn't Ryan Haynes hair shit?

FFS these same comments were being made about Thomas last season. When will City fans give kids a chance to learn the game? They will make mistakes, get over it.

This is my biggest concern about Pressley bringing his philosophy to the Ricoh: I don't think our fans are patient enough.

Barton is basically in the same place in his career as Daniels and Thomas. Give the kid a break, he's obviously got talent. Your day won't be ruined if you don't boo anyone.

I agree, some people seem to be treating him like an established star but is still only 22 I think.

You slagged off Barton for his performance against Bradford even though he didnt play, Notice you have since edited your stupid post. So on your original comment how is it reasonable to criticise Barton when he didnt play,

Stop embarrassing yourself. Ignore me Im a typical football fan - what, on a football forum - surely not. Think you are superior then I suppose At least I went to the game

theres an element that seem to like slagging our players even when warming up,and barton has been a victim of this .agreed he is not doing to good wen given the chance ,I do believe he is a far better player than we are seeing ,but don't think we will get the best out of him with the slagging of he gets.the element that gob off are the same twats that abuse the others fans, shouting abuse and hand gestures then hide in the crowd and others get the shit like the lad at Bradford and the bloke at wolves.we have a small squad ,no money,no chance of attracting decent experienced players in ,s,p has to work with wat we have got ,encourage the playing staff ,don't slag them

He had a massive potentially career ending injury not so long ago too.

He may be 'fit' but he may well not be fit just yet.
