What on earth are you basing this on? How many times have you seen Urquhart play? Webster is fine him and Clarke are developing a good partnership. He is a steadying influence on a very young back line, and you want to bring in a younger player?

I don't rate him either, not the player I'd thought he'd be, doesn't stamp his authority enough for me. Not sure a 17 year old kid is the answer though. I think Moussa needs a rest too, but god forbid I suggest we're not signing players for monetary reasons obviously Pressley is happy with them all.

In all seriousness, Webster will be to Pressley what Telfer was to Strachan, the guy is never going to get dropped.

First time I have seen him and he seems okay to me, a little lucky not get red carded but marshals the defence pretty good. The suggestion to bring in a rookie 18 years old in his place is barmy

Until there is a viable replacement why would he be dropped?

He was very good at Stevanage, and was very good until they bought Taylor on yesterday. He was then walking a tightrope trying to ensure he didnt get sent off.

Taylor looks very decent btw.

Tough one. By the split opinion on here I would go along with it really. I am not convinced he is top 6 material but then he has played what 6 games? and ive seen probably 3 and he has better games than others and yesterday was not a good showing from him hence why this thread. he is 50-50 player, half will think he is ok and does a job and half are not convinced. Time will tell.

People have to remember we are a league 1 team. In my opinion the biggest difference between league 1 and championship is the quality of the defending.

He's as good as Richard Wood imo.

Agreed.

I don't think Webster had a bad game yesterday in all fairness, yes he made two reckless challenges and on another day he could have been walking, but compared to Harry Maguire in Sheffield United's backline Webster had a brilliant game.

And Harry Maguire is highly rated.

Websters second challenge looked like he may just have got the ball. That probably saved him from walking as ref maybe wasn't 100% sure.

How Harry Maguire managed to stay on the pitch yesterday is beyond me.

No he didnt stand out yesterday but he didnt do that bad either. Above all he is there as an experienced head to talk the young lads through a game. As such he is doing his job ok. No he isnt the quickest, but at L1 level is doing a job for us. We have little enough experience as it is in defence without ditching him, young lads need all the help they can get to keep focussed for the whole game. Ideally you would partner him with a big quick strong centre half with some experience who would win the ball, but we dont have that. We have to go with what we have. Think we have enough problems without getting on players backs.

I thought he was ok yesterday and also in the other games i have seen. Yes he lacks a little pace but on the whole ok. Yes the pull back on the edge of the box was a yellow card. The foul given later on in the game which people are debating should have been a yellow wasn't even a foul he got the ball first.

Harry maguire is an awful centre halve! Telling me he is highly rated at Sheff Utd!! He reminded me of a young Chris Morgan - cant play football for toffees but gets in your face and bullies you! I think Webster was fortunate to escape a red yesterday although his first yellow, BOTH players were pulling and shoving. In saying that his role is to guide the young defenders and try to steady them - I think he does that, I saw a completely different Jordan Clarke to the one I have seen before. Very good.

Wilson was through in the first twenty minutes and Mike Dean didn't even give Maguire a yellow and then he repeated it once again before half time (which earned him a yellow) and then he was tugging onto Wilson in the second half!

He was a lucky boy.

Jordan has been awesome at CB IMO he scared the crap out of me though in the last thirty seconds when he sheilded the ball out of play, that can so easily go wrong and at that time as well..

Maguire could have got a yellow for the deliberate handball in our area if the rules were genuinely followed.

And the deliberate pull back on Wilson in the first half before he got booked.

Persistent fouling in the second half was just getting ridiculous
Webster tho , been great since he arrived , has a lot to do regarding high balls into the box due to the height of the other 3 defenders
