Having looked at the situation we are in I see only a few possible ways forward. The one I like most is ----- The Sky Blue Trust take over the ground on a 99 year lease at a price that can be determind by a third party. Because the ground is in another companies hands we can then be in control of catering and 'match-day' profits. We are the people of the City of Coventry and own the ground (or part of it) anyway through our existance as citizens of Coventry. NEXT the Trust take over the day to day running of the club from SISU and put in a position of returning the club to the City. The Trust act as patrons rather than direct owners. A contract is then written whereby when a 'suitable' owner of the club is found the profits from the club go 50% to SISU and 50% to ACL. If SISU and ACL agree to this proposal and wait a number of years when we return to the 'Holy Grail' they would benefit to the tune of 50million each because CCFC could be sold for that much if we returned to the Premier. Would they lose out? NO - ACL would have a tenant in the stadium who they would trust, and SISU - would still be in control of their investment, all be it indirectly.

Of course it's not the Hoffman plan as he would be the owner rather than 'we' the people. Also, it would not be a £1 fee. As I said we would be in control of total match day revenue which would pay for costs and salaries. OUR club is worth a damn site more than a million or two. Elliott and his American mate are business people and that is why they stil circle the club like magpies. Portsmouth get 15000 plus crowds. If the trust were in charge with SP at the wheel we would have 15000 no problem.

This is a bit of a long shot at best. Ignoring the rights or wrongs of the club playing at Sixfields, the longer it goes on, the fewer the fans will back any initiative to part own the club. The club is now dead for a lot of people.
Even if we ended up back at the Ricoh very few of the 6000 season ticket holders that no longer go would back the club after this debacle. All pretty pointless really.

The notion that the trust or a collection of supporters can buy the ground is utter nonsense its not something you can debate about.
It's akin to a 5 year old saying he wants to be an astronaut. Then you gloss over the fact they will not own the club. How will that happen?

How would the trust be able to fund it? I appreciate that they have said that is part of their objectives, but they haven't done anything about it. I fear they are relying on a benevolent owner to just give them the club. Of course they could have a plan to buy the club, but I very much doubt it, and considering how ineffective the vast majority of their efforts, it is highly unlikely they will ever do anything about it

Registering something as an "Asset of Community Value" has to be done by a parish council, a community group, or an Industrial & Provident Society (like the Trust). That then ensures that should the ACV be sold, that group/council/society has a certain length of time to match the agreed sale price, and raise the money.

The Trust IIRC have a plan for ownership but it's more of a contingency in case of liquidation/admin than trying to buy off the owners. No point raising funds for something that might not happen, too messy.
