I've sent out the second kcic update and here is the text only version (for the full message email [email protected] and I'll add you to the mailing list)

Keep Cov in Cov Campaign - What's it All About?

The Keep Cov in Cov (kcic) view

•Coventry City FC belongs in the City of Coventry - it is where the Club was founded and has been its home for 130 years
•There is no concrete plan for CCFC to return to Coventry
•Action by supporters can change things - if we do nothing then nothing will change, but if we try we at least have a chance

The kcic approach

•Any action must always be 100% peaceful
•It is vital to keep our plight and fight in the public eye
•Pressure must be brought to bear on those with the power to get CCFC playing in Coventry
•Arguing about who is to blame for our plight is not the best use of kcic resources – it divides not unites fans and much key information remains a matter of conjecture not fact
•Comments and ideas are always very welcome but kcic operates by people doing stuff not just talking about it! The most important part of any suggestion is what you can do to help make it happen!

Kcic's next activities:

'ACL-FL-SISU: It's Time to Talk!' Family Friendly Picnic on Jimmy's Hill Sunday 8 September v Colchester

'Acl-FL-Sisu: It's time to talk' will be the theme for a great chance to get national attention for our plight and fight with a family-friendly 'Picnic on Jimmy's Hill' adjacent to the sixfields ground on Sunday 8 September. That weekend is an international break so there are no Premier League matches and the media will be looking for stories. The wonderful City supporting people at coachleasing.com are laying on their double-decker Sky Blue bus for Keep Cov in Cov (details below). Let's recreate a small-scale version of the incredible atmosphere at the Legends game at the Ricoh!

To be dead clear, this is absolutely NOT about dissuading people from going inside sixfields or any confrontation of any kind. It is just a great opportunity to attract national attention to the kcic message - 100% peaceful and making our voice heard in a positive way.

The kcic return fare on the coachleasing.com Sky Blue bus will be £5 and under 16s FREE. To book a ticket you must email your name, address and contact phone number to [email protected] and full details will then be provided.

It's time for an Independent Inquiry!

Kcic is calling for an Independent Inquiry into the causes of the problems facing CCFC and for all the parties and individuals involved to be called to account. There are a number of options for doing this, and for a public launch of the initiative, which are being considered. Details will be published shortly.

London Events 11 and 25 Sept

With several key players - sisu, the Football League, the FA etc - based in London, it is important to hold events in the capital. Next London events are planned for Wednesday 11 September and Wednesday 25 September. Both will be from around 4pm to 6pm, with this time slot being so people from Coventry can get cheap trains and do it in half a day, while London-based City fans can hopefully nip out of work a bit early! Details of 11 and 25 September will be publicised nearer the time. The most recent London event, 28 Aug at sisu, saw:

•best turnout so far for a London event, especially from London-based City fans
•best media coverage so far in London: Sky, BBC, a London paper and couple of freelancers, plus interviews on CWR breakfast and drivetime shows
•first time we got coverage in a specialist financial newspaper

Plus:

•Brilliant to meet yet more great City supporters
•Fantastic atmosphere
•Excellent post match drink and very lively discussion and exchanges of views!

Is there any food stall or is it take your own food? Anything on for the kids?

Will depend on numbers. If it's going to be small we'll keep it low key. If numbers start to build then face painting it is! (and offers of help v welcome)

What about the picnic? Is it people going to stand on the hill like the other games or will there be somewhere to get food?

No I'm just trying to figure out if it is a family picnic or people stood on the hill like the other games but hopefully without the anger and abuse for people going in!

Keep Coventry In Coventry......
run by folks in London?
The irony!
By being in Northampton, does that not defeat the object?
Stay away from Sixfields!
How many more people will be making a sly living out of the club's misery?
The Ribbon people, some mobile hotdog van by the hill?
In the long term, Sisu will just cordone off the hill!
To protest, stay in Cov! Simples

For the game on sky is there going to be a big screen somewhere? Big hall or something with a bar?

Yes, it's called Sixfields! But you can't drink during the match ;)

be nice if we could get it on the big screen at the Ricoh and then get similar numbers to that of the legends game.

I wouldn't suggest the Ricoh, would much prefer a pub / location that has been heavily hit by us moving away with a big function room or something? Make them a bit of cash rather than ACL.

No no no no no. No. Not at the Ricoh because:

1) Should be neutral of ACL/Sisu
2) watching TV in a stadium is shit
3) watching football on TV without beer is shit
4) you'd have to charge people
5) you're out of sight, so its not that much of a protest.

Big screen in Memorial or in Millenium Square is what should happen, add in a set before from some Cov bands, another Deano clip of City greats, then watch the match with food and beer available. Everyone bring a blanket cos it'll get cold. People wandering past can stop for a bit which swells numbers.

Went to an outdoor cinema thing in a park in New York once, was brilliant for all age groups and free.

I'd imagine capacity at any of these is in the hundreds. Unless you set a few up around the city...

Agree with by the motor museum, when I went to the museum last week they had Aladdin on.

The only thing with that is if it's sunny it's a bit hard to see, and you probably wouldn't be allowed beer would you?

Forgot about the beer ban in town, but isn't it the same at the Memorial normally and you can drink at Godiva so there must be a way around it.

I like the idea of nominated bars to watch games in though to give cash back, just think while the cause is still fresh something public would be better. But any more Sky games that should definitely be done, keep the community alive a bit while we're away.

Its gonna cost a fair bit to use anything that would require construction. Memorial etc would require the screen, poss fencing for alcohol to be served, a lot of organising etc

Simpliest would be using a facility already in place.

Anything on at the Sky Dome that day. Ample bars round there that used to benefit in some way from home matches, decent transport links and a ready made facility

I'll put it in on in my garden, 3 quid a can of carling and 4 quid a burger :D

It really depends on numbers, I guess a lot of people will go to their local to watch it.

Yup, and a smaller venue needs less people to be full, which gives a better impression of numbers than (possibly more) dispersed over a bigger venue.

Getting it back on topic, are kids going to want to stand on a hill when a football match is going on inside?

if promoted properly, how many poeple do you think would turn up ?

No reason why if it was family friendly, promoted by the CT, was at the Sky Dome, served booze etc that we couldnt get into thousands ?

We could even contact sky so they could show everyone before the match and at HT / when we score :)

Read the thread before replying won't look such a fool then.
It is run locally by Micheal they have just had some protests in London with the London supporters attending and anyway why shouldn't someone from London run it?
People making a sly living out of our situation utter fucking disgrace.
I am one of the ribbon people and the plastic ones where brought by one of our members as a big plastic sheet then they are cut up and tied up in our own time no pay
The small ones were donated by a local company who back our campaign
The hill cannot be cordoned off by sisu as it is common land and not owned by the Football club they would have to get permission from the council who in turn will ask the police about trouble before making a decision.
Where are we going to protest in Cov every time they play at sixfields? and why

Getting back on track...does anyone on here actually want a ticket for Sky Blue bus to Picnic on Jimmy's Hill 8 Sept which will draw national attention to what's happening to CCFC and promote the kcic message plus the 'acl-fl-sisu: it's time to talk' theme?

My formative years as a City fan were spent walking to and from hr from pool meadow and standing on the kop - getting soaking wet, freezing cold and only being able to see bits of the game were all big parts of it. So anyone put off by the potential Jimmy's Hill experience ain't getting any sympathy from me!
