CCFC Statement (1 Viewer)

As the club has consistently maintained, the players contracts have been registered by CCFC (Holdings) Ltd and registered by the Football League in the name of Holdings for over 10 years - way before Sisu took over the club.

Today's admission by the Football League confirms that.

Despite claims to the contrary, it should also come as no surprise to many of those who have been involved for many years at a senior level at the club and ACL - including former directors and a finance director - that this was the case.

The reason given for refusing the CVA and penalising the club by a further 10 points was their stated aim to undertake an investigation into that which they already knew the answer.

To be clear, players have been contracted to CCFC (Holdings) Ltd and registered as such by the Football League since well before Sisu's takeover when the club was relegated from the Premier League.

The mistake if there was one, was not that the players’ contracts should have been registered in the name of CCFC Ltd, but that the Golden Share should have been registered in Holdings, which owned the beneficial interest in the club.

At least now, with this out in the open and with the club reconstituted, we can get on with the business of running the football club and giving our full support to Steven Pressley and the team.

We would now suggest the City Council and ACL drop their efforts to force a change of ownership of the club - conduct which is now subject to oral argument in the request for judicial review.

Oh, surely they are not thinking of Hoffman and Elliott?

No ACL should not drop the attempts to force a takeover as sadly this is our only hope of getting rid of SISU.

'At least now, with this out in the open'

One does has to wonder what more does the CEO of Coventry FC expect to be revealed on his behalf? I bet the CCFCST are celebrating tonight!!

Why should ACL say who owns us? They're not interested in the club, they want the surrounding land regenerated which is why they prefer Heskell

contracted to holdings and yet all the accounts state they were in CCFC Ltd

and yet their own board minutes in 2008 (after SISU bought in) say that CCFC Ltd was responsible the employment of all football staff, player wages, transfer activities and player registrations plus the golden share

hard to know who to believe isnt it

I will happily take their intervention if it removes SISU and brings in new owners who can immediately assume access to stadium revenues one way or another. The ends justify the means.

I don't trust ACL anymore than I trust Sisu.

And Otium have already bought the assets from ltd.

It's pretty easy to believe that all 3 invested parties are quite fond of releasing public statements shifting blame onto other parties and repeatedly talking about 'what is best for Coventry fans' to justify it.

Surely the fa will know when they were changed and can go back through past player registrations?

Greg Clarke's 'Your protest will achieve nothing' statement should lead to his resignation. Real Football, Real Fans, Real Bullshit.

Just like the student protests should have resulted in mass Lib Dem resignations after they conned students into voting for them on tuition fees...

"Alway's look on the bright side of life". We've lost the club to SISU, the team to Northampton...so we're starting off with nothing - if our protest lead to nothing - what have we lost? NOTHING!

Timmy, the club's accounts say otherwise !!!! Players were registered in CCFC Ltd -- you signed the bloody accounts !!!
Surely this statement from Coventry City Football club again stating that they knew that this registration was with Holdings does confirm that the auditors and the directors of the then CCFCLtd signed accounts that were false. I do believe that this may be illegal and if so the directors do fail the FL fit and proper test !

...& surely your corporate responsibility is to only sign them off once YOU are satisfied - to the best of your abillity - they are correct?

Added a crucial sentence ... The CEO is not supposed to be better at accounting or auditing than the experts and is allowed to trust their work.

If it was 10 years ago, then Elliott and Hoffman would be pretty fucked as well wouldn't they?

Good, get rid of the current lot, and have nobody associated with them from the past either.

Would get my vote.
