Thing is, we're protesting a move out of the city and showing we won't travel for games by travelling to games. It's hypocritical.

Now, Colchester has a very low home support as it is and their travelling support is low. I mean, look how many they took to the Ricoh last season. It's a bitch of a journey by car or train. This may be our first chance to get a minus 1000 attendance and having fans on the hill just works to SISUs favour - people still travelled to support the club even if they didn't go in.

I just don't see that, sorry.

What the guys on the hill are saying is that we love the team but hate SISU.

There's nothing hypocritical in that stance, in fact I'd say it's a more dedicated protest than just doing nothing, it's costing money and time to get there.

Whats more its costing the council tax payers of Northamptonshire money in police costs if we travel remember the leader of the council ,Cardoza and some of their fans "bringing in money our buinesses economy" etc. I suggest NOPM for Northamptonshire as well. Fill up your cars in Coventry do not visit any businesses in Northampton no food no drinks nothing. Just put massive costs on them and spend your money in Coventry. NOPM

And you wonder why we don't support all your actions. How is costing is more in policing costs helping your plight to get your team back to coventry?

I like the idea of you being on the hill but I do agree that sisu will spin it to say "oh look they'll still travel to Northampton so they can't be that against it."

Its because of the attitudes of your leaders and some of your citizens that I feel this way. If your Trust had come out against this with a bit of conviction if your fans had the same attitude as the fans of Walsall then I would not be talking this way. I said right from the beginning when we thought it was Walsall that the police could be our biggest asset and I still think that allbeit a different police force. Im sorry that youve been caught up in this but if it were the other way around I would be protesting on your behalf as much as I am at present on ours.

As for the Hill Sisu can try and spin it all they want the banners and people there will make a mockery of their spin this is not a matter of the distance if it were Nuneaton or Rugby it would be the same issue

I,m back from holiday so yes lets have a party would follow Coventry anywhere but they need to play at home.

As for watching the game I feel that we need to show our presence put up our banners and turn our backs to the pitch this would make the right statement we are not here to watch COVENTRY Play in Foreign climes.

As for Northampton they don't give a toss about us never mind what the 3 that come on here say why should we care about them.

Still have friends in Northampton from when I worked there they couldn't give a Toss.......................

play up Sky blues Party Time...

Of course we don't give a fuck about Coventry, why would we?! It's always horrible when clubs are struggling and going out of business, how many of you helped Rushden & Diamonds when they were going to pot? How many of you went to MK Dons last time you played them and helped fund a franchise team....I'll tell you 4,988 of you did!!!!! How many of you helped Scarborough or Aldershot back in the day?

Yes it's sad but fuck me, I'm not going to protest on your behalf, I have a family and I have a life - it's struggle enough to get to Cobblers games these days without an earbashing from the mrs.

Some of you need to realise most of the above and stop wallowing in your own self pity and bemoaning other fans for not helping you.

As I said on a previous thread, hopefully you will never be in our position. But if you are, and it is not beyond the realms of possibility, you too will be looking for support from the wider football family. Will you get it? Maybe, if you show in your actions that you helped a fellow club ie us, in our hour of need. Your comment of " we don't give a f*** about Coventry" says it all about morons like you. Your shrug of the shoulders and NTFC's acceptance of the 30 pieces of SISU silver would not give me a reason to back you or your fellow supporters of NTFC, should the unspeakable ever happen to you (and I really hope it never does).

You've admitted you don't give a fuck, so why are you here at all? Is it to whine about us standing on the hill. Again.

Basically it strikes me that you're the forum equivalent of a rubbenecker - you're just here to watch our car crash of a club without actually wanting to do anything to help. I'm not sure everyone here is wallowing in self-pity, but even if they are it's better than taking pleasure in another's misery, I'd say.

I've got no issues with fans of other clubs, and generally I'd try to get on with everyone. But to be honest, I wish you'd just fuck off and leave us to it.

Why are people on here attacking Cobblers36? I mean he is only being honest and has raised some fair points.

Its Sisu's fault not Northamptons, and if we werent at Northampton we would be somewhere else. Perhaps we would all be emailing Carson Yeung if we had gone to the Blues, like he would give a sh*t. There is one evil at our club, and it isnt Northampton Town, so give them a break.

Would people be moaning if we owned the Ricoh and did a groundshare and got a nice wad of cash to go towards better players? I doubt it...

Speak for yourself Nick If we Knew the facts many on here would be dead against a groundshare . im all for good players and a succesful side but you have to have pride in the club . Perhaps its taking the moral highground however a line must be drawn somewhere. Its similar to wanting ACL to sell to SISU for peanuts with a vague hope some of the cash SISU raise will come back to the playing squad. Cant support that.

It doesn't follow that if we weren't at Northampton we would be groundsharing elsewhere. Remember initially it had to be within 30 miles of Coventry and in the West Midlands, the clubs that met that condition all refused. If NTFC had followed their example and also refused rather than being so keen to get their hands on a few quid we don't know what would have happened. The must surely come a point when the FL would have gone you're moving too far and we don't know if any other club would have said yes. If there was no other option than playing at the Ricoh available to SISU we'd be playing at the Ricoh.

You can't speak for everyone. Other clubs fans protested the groundshare and their clubs refused it, why do you assume we would just accept it and not follow the example set by the likes of Walsall?

I wasn't speaking for everybody but if we had owners that reinvested it and said something like "Yes we are doing a ground share for 3 years but we have signed x, y and z with the money"

A massive IF though.

Northampton are complicit in this whole situation...stadium expansion and groundshare announce in same week.....i dont get this blah blah from the fans on here...its purely all about the money in for them.........as for the bloke who said Northampton had troubles but got out of it themselves, well thats just great for you mate....did you have another league club greedily assisting in your clubs demise.....because we have....you!

I am surprised how little embarrassment is shown by these people

I guess you must have been one of those who boycotted when we signed King then. Fair play.

Wasn't the money from a grant from the council? It was announced a while ago they would be doing up their ground?

I think it is partly NTFC's fault, because if their chairman hadn't taken the cash then it would likely have forced SISU down a different road.

As for attacking Cobblers36, the point I'm making is that he admits he doesn't care what happens to us, but then seeks to offer "advice" on our protests which seems somewhat self-serving, or tells us to sort it out for ourselves.

That kind of help and advice we don't really need, imho.

Duffer,

I just wanted to post to say even though we have seen the point from a slightly different angle, at a time when some fans just try to shout down others, I thank you for a decent, honest, respectfull answer and I understand the points you have made.

Yes mate, yes I would be moaning. It's our ground (or at least was), and I wouldn't want to share it with anyone. Lots of different reasons, but not least of which because I like football to be played on the deck and that's going to be hard if a pitch is churned up twice a week in winter. And I'd be especially against it if we stiffed another club's set of fans to do it.

If you're happy to just stitch people up like this, then you really haven't got any great grounds for complaint when it happens to you.

To be honest it was more about your leaders than the fans but if you dont like us protesting in your town then dont welcome Sisu hoping to benefit your local economy and your club. I suggest you stay out of the way while we do what we think we should do. I and others are not wallowing in self pity we are fighting for our club we could have done with some help from your Trust but it wasn't to be

Fair play Moff, I appreciate that.

And I'm sorry for getting so angry about it, I really try hard to make my point without causing offence but something about this has really got under my skin. I'm sure Cobblers36 and NTFC are perfectly decent types, and like almost all fans we could probably enjoy a chat and a pint from completely different viewpoints without ever falling out, but they've really wound me up here. Sorry.
