Thomas has talent but too much of a lightweight people always say it's his break through year but we've been saying that for the best two years now and I've never seen him put in a good peformance

Bit harsh, I though he played well in the 4-5 games at the base of the diamond when clingan was out injured under thorn.

He's made it known that he wants to be on the move but if he keeps putting in performances like that it isn't going to happen.

I'm only harsh him because I know he's got great talent but doesn't show it in games.

Anyway. Season starts 7 days and still no new signings!

He needs a decent run of games in a stable side, then we'll know whether he has the talent and temperament. He is still only 19 and missed 90% of last season with injury.

Average. Think everyone fell foul to too many mislaid passes today, and Fleck was probably the worst culprit.

Thanks for the feedback much appreciated.

You've seen most of the pre season games. How's been best performer and who's been the most disappointing?

I thought Hines did well. Murphy was in good form. Let downs for me were Fleck and Thomas.

I don't think we made any subs did we? Which is odd for a PSF. could have missed them of course.

Interesting that Lobjit was marked by 2 or 3 players at times! Thought Hines did well, but we made to many wrong decisions regarding playing balls wen we didn't need to etc. struggled when we had a big striker to deal with..... We need reinforcements hopefully that will sort things, but was encouraging in tough conditions considering the stupid situation we are in!!!

I agree with your pints Torchy. And no, I don't recall any subs either!

Then again we did only have 4 subs to use, and two of those appeAred off the bench yesterday (Azille-Moore and Garner).

Murphy has kept us in most games, so I think that shows our defence is very vulnerable.

I've been impressed with Lobjoit, atleast up to today anyway. He wasn't as good today, conceding possession easily and seems to want too much time on the ball, while everyone else just wants rid of it, and to pass it.

Phillips looks like he will become a decent player, but whilst Christie is here, I'm not sure he will feature much.

I was impressed with Fabio Martins, but apparently he's not what we're after (although I'd have said he's exactly what we're after. But what do I know ;) )

One player who has surprised me is Jordan Clarke. Being told he's unwanted, only to be brought back into the squad, and played out of position, I think he's grown we'll into the CB role he's been asked to play, and has impressed me! Although he today too had one of his poorer games, not winning as much as he has done in previous games, where he's been marking other, taller players.

Thomas today was the most disappointing. Jogging after he'd lost possession, too lightweight, and generally looking lost.

Thanks for that, much appreciated. I imagine Pressley will revert to the 5 man midfield next week with Barton and baker coming into midfield with Thomas, moussa and fleck.

H seems keen to play two up front, so I guess it will be Clarke and Wilson up front.

My guess at the team V Crawley is:

Murphy
Christie
J.Clarke
Willis
Adams
Baker
Barton
Fleck / Moussa
Lobjoit (I think he's the strongest candidate for LM)
L.Clarke
Wilson

Says a lot for his character that he can come back into the fold and pull his socks up. Even if it is forced on the manager by having no defenders left, fair play to him for taking his chances.

It will be interesting to see what he does, I thought he may have played 442 to give as many players as many minutes as possible.

Hines was crap! far too lightweight, the portugese guy looks a better bet and Pressley has fucked him off!

Thought we kept possession well 1st half but it was ineffective in the final third of the pitch

No penetration or goal threat ( Leon Clarke looked a bit more threatening the 2nd half )

Felt sorry for jordan clarke as he is to small to play centre half against a bigger man

Relegation battle ahead I fear
