BRANDON v RICOH - In Your Dreams (6 Viewers)

Let's just imagine this other ludicrous proposal to play at Brandon is serious.

Ricoh @ 40 acres v Brandon @26 acres - BUT old Nursery opposite is unused and could come into the equation and bring respective areas closer.

IT WON'T HAPPEN - Rugby Council are very strict on "giving the nod" to what would be a major upheaval of a large area of green belt and unimagined chaos for local residents (me included).

Yes this whole thing smacks of that new airport of years ago (same area) a red herring all along never to reach fruition but a smoke screen.

My choice: I would love a 32,500 seater stadium adjacent to main motorways with hotel complex, state of the art facilities, nil or reasonable rent mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... I think I might contact a guy called Fisher (highly recommended) he appears in the know on these sort of things ....................NURSE ............ arrange a visit please

Johnnie, it's a non starter. I go past the old garden centre most days. Not big enough. The local opposition would be total.

SISU/Fisher I believe are under pressure to show the Football League or more likely the FA positive plans re. their proposed new ground. Won't work and I wouldn't be surprised if the FL reverse their decision soon.

I would like to think your right but based on the fact Northampton has been agreed for what we are expected to believe 3-5yrs I wouldnt count on it

You mean the project that has taken 20 years to get planning permission for?

A year ago an undertaker tried to open up a business in Binley Woods. There was so much opposition, the idea was thrown out. I can see the irony here. The opposition to Sisu moving into the area would meet 100% opposition.
& I'll stress again, the Brandon site is right by ancient protected woods. Not a chance.

Not a chance Brandon to many factors involved
Just another bargaining tool and delaying tactic something to walk into the meeting with , they can acquire land or bid on land and pull out of deals or complete and sell on at a later date for other purposes and all for the purpose of peacock ing to acl we don't need you

Has the club actually confirmed Brandon, or is this just press speculation?

Even if planning permission could be obtained for a football stadium at Brandon, which I don't believe it could, what multiple use venue do SISU really expect to construct there that offers better access, infrastructure, and business potential than the Ricoh. If they have some crazy notion to combine football with speedway and dog racing, just imagine the lack of atmosphere and longer distance view created by having a speedway/dog racing track between the stands and the pitch.
