Agree with that but would give Christie a 7 just for endeavour and attempting to give width.

pleased for the young lad Haynes. After ten minutes when he was sitting on the ground it was almost like he was saying "can I please play for the Academy again?" I think the warm applause every time he did something well helped too. Good on him. We should play the kids now to fill the gaps. I'd also drop Bailey too - not been much cop since Robins left and he's not here next season anyway so play someone else.

Agree. I don't think bailey seems as keen as when MR was here. I like how wilson played, thought he linked up well with moussa

I hope baker and Christie were just tired because I'd not that was some piss poor work rate down the right side

It's a really hard one to rate as most players were inconsistent within the game. But:

Murphy-6. Didn't have much to do at all. Should have stayed on his line for the one when he was lobbed.
Christie-7. Some decent dribbling as ever, worked hard and seems to be maturing. Didn't get enough support or supply as he did against Donnie. Crossing was poor again though.
Haynes-7. Very pukey first 15 minutes, but showed composure, quick feet and some dogged defensive work over the 90 minutes. Gets a 7 due to his ability to overcome his nerves considering that he is so very young. I still don't know if he's right or left-footed. Looks a prospect, more blooding of the kids, please!
Martin-5. Passing didn't impress me. Bit too similar to Wood for my liking. Just felt shakey and kept booting or heading it straight up in the air. Shame as I've quite liked him up to now. Walsall probably rocked his confidence.
Wood-6. Not that bad for a first game back and his talking to Haynes was wise and responsible. Still very very slow, almost costing us a goal for the move when Murphy was lobbed, but made a couple of good challenges.
Baker-6. Terrible passing, too narrow for my liking; worked hard and dribbled well but couldn't wriggle into enough space today. Couple of dogged tackles to win possession and launch counters. Snapshot over the bar after good footwork was a good chance missed, but he made it himself.
Moussa-5. Very subdued but was clearly sitting deeper to protect Haynes IMO. Hit target with shot but it lacked venom.
Jennings-5. Some good tackles and usual grit but did his usual Baker-esque trick of a bad thing for every good thing he did. I want our midfield closing down and although he does this, he does it very slowly and is equally ponderous when in possession. I like him, somehow, but I really don't know why..I suppose because he tries. But compared to the player we thought we were getting in pre-season, a big disappointment. How old is he, about 27? Needs training on shooting.
Bailey-4. Didn't close down high up the pitch as he did (brilliantly IMO) against Doncaster. One very good pass, a couple of shockers, generally very anonymous though.
Fleck-6. Has clear quality and had a few nice moments of flair-the run when he skinned his man (and showed a hitherto undetectable turn of pace!) and the long range mud-bouncer shot and a few decent passes. But was a disappointment after the Doncaster game; has the vision but "failed to execute his skills" today (to quote England wicket-keeper Matt Prior), mis-hitting most of his passes. Still felt like our man most likely to create something, though-I'd try and build a team around the tubby fella. Needs to cut down on the deep-fried Mars bars, though: I think that a momentous 3 games in a row in the side have knackered him out!
Wilson-6. Battled away, few flashes of good link up play and pace, but was given no supply whatsoever. Isn't really suited to one up front: didn't win anything in the air and didn't play with his back to goal and link play as that role requires. One to persevere with though, if we can hang on to him though administration. Chose the wrong option when put though towards the end, but his legs had probably gone by then.

Bell-5. One good corner. Not suited to the left. I'll leave it at that..
Cody-6. Too late to make an impact, but the ball bounced off him a few times. Gets a 6 just for his effort in tackling and robbing their defender near the end. Feel sorry for him really, deserves a run in the side and his goal a few weeks back was great, but can't really play in a 451. But then neither can Wilson particularly. I can see why Pressley gave Ball a go, even though he certainly isn't the answer either.

He said in his (timid!) interview that the fans cheering really helped-and I think that in turn really helped the team as it continued into that 10 mins when we were well on top first half.

Agreed on Bailey too-surely Thomas has to start now? He's probably exactly the halfway between ball-player and ball-winner that our midfield requires to be balanced?

The whole team looked tired. Remember Baker has played 52 games this season...

I missed my second home game of the season today having caught man flu, the first game was the cracker v Brum

don't sound like this was a bad game to miss

Baker was out on his feet at Wallsall, he was rushed back from an operation in my opinion ,and still gets 90 minutes!

we are piss poor down the left without Adam, why not bring Sheff back? Bell on the left is not the answer
square pegs in round holes and all that

someone fast forward and end this season quick, also fast forward this shitey administration, i'm fooking bored of the whole infighting already and its going to drag on for months:(

decent attendance today, thought it would be around the 9k mark

There was around 2k Brentford fans, to me it seemed the worse home attendance of the season

Even with the brentford fans it didn't look like 10.4k to me...there were a few season ticket holders missing around me in block 20.

not suprising then, fair play to The Bees fans.

maybe under 9k at the Orient game if they don't bring too many, if they are out of the play off chasing places!

From where I was sitting (block 2) the attendance didn't look anything like 10.4k, more like 7, reckon they just put on some extra figures to make it up to 10k

I got in on a nine quid concession as the idiots mixed up the concession and junior prices even though it said it on the ticket...just about sums the club up atm

Yet they sold out of programmes well before kick off, according to the programme office, as it was a "massive game"!

Murphy 6 - Nothing to do but pick it out of the net
Cyrus 7 - Good attacking play, one of few players who made a real effort
Martin 6 - Still looks dodgy, needs to work on his ball control
Wood 7 - Good to see Woody back. Didnt have much to do
Haynes 7 - Slow start but great towards the end. Got stuck in during last 20 mins and attacked well when he went forward. Good debut. Plus, the first ever CCFC player who is younger than me1 :D I feel so old
Baker 7.5 - Not at his best yet but did well IMO. Attacked well and scored so good game for him
Jenno 4 - Poor passing, no attacking intent, sideways Clingan-like movement. IMO, not good enough. Need to give Thomas a chance
Bailey 4 - Didnt seem interested. Needs to go back to Derby
Fleck 5 - Disapointing. Slow, ineffective, can do so much better
Moussa 6 - Had some good moments but not his bets back
Wilson 7 - Gave it his best shot but wasnt helped by the poor midfield performance

Subs:
Bell 1 - Crap, did nothing but f*ck up. He didnt have much to do but didnt do it well
Cody N/A barely got a touch

MOTM: Baker

administrator only gettng programmes made up so he can shift them, no left overs wanted!

any £1 pies left over lol:whistle:

No, no, that's crazy conspiracy talk:

I had a row with one of them outside before kick-off. It was indirectly prompted by a row with a programme "seller", so I'll tell you that for background.

Part One

We didn't see any of our usual programme vendor's today, despite arriving at exactly the same time as we usually do. If you walk around anti-clockwise from Carpark C, there's a little office (before you get to the brick stairs) that claims to be for programme selling. So we tried there.

Bloke: "We aint got any"
Us: "Why not?"
Bloke" We've sold out".
Me: "Really? How is that possible? We always get here at this time, and there's always plenty. How have we sold out?"
Bloke: "(smiling) It's a massive crowd, we sold out ages ago".
Me: "No it isn't, it's a meaningless game for us.."
Bloke: (shrugs) "We've sold out".
Me: "Is this office where the stock for all the vendors is distributed from?"
Bloke: "Yes".
Me: "So did you receive the same amount of stock today as you usually do?"
Bloke: "Yes".
Me: "So the stock level of programmes ordered hasn't been reduced due to administration?"
Bloke: "No, we got exactly the same amount as we always do".
Me (incredulous): "You're lying! There's no way that you can have sold out an hour earlier today than any other game if you had the same amount of stock-they're normally still selling them at half-time!"
Bloke: (lots of hand-waving) "I'm telling you, we got the same level of stock, it's a big game, we've sold out!".

I gave up at this point.

Part Two

Now this office is between the big slope with the concreted off lane on the way to the turnstiles; it's quite a walk back to go around, so we naturally walked up the stone steps. The top of them is always cordoned off by metal barriers at the top, but they can be opened by hand, they aren't locked. Well sod it if we were going to walk all the way around, those steps were obviously intended to be used originally, so we walked up them....

Bloke (shouting from his office): "Oi, you can't go that way!"
Me: "Why not?" (carries on walking).
Bloke (running out of his office): "I said you can't go that way!"
Me: "Fuck off mate, why not? That bloke's using them (pointing at my mate, pretending I don't know him :)) ...they're steps, get over it".

Already walking up these Steps You Can't Use is an Orange Goon...

Bloke (to Goon): "Eh, tell him will you, he can't go that way!"
Goon: "...."..shrugs, looks disinterested. Then as I walk up the stairs, decides to pipe up with the mantra "Eh, you can't go that way!"
Me: "Oh, don't be silly, I'm not walking all the way back there, I'm using these steps, and anyway, you're using them!".
Goon: "They're cordoned off for a reason".
Me: "Are they? What's the reason, then?"
Goon: (pauses...I love the way you can actually hear these fucker's cogs going around!): "...."
Me: "You don't know! Typical..."
Goon: "Arsehole.."
Me: "What was that?"
Goon: "You heard".
Me: "What right do you have to call one of the paying supporters of this club an arsehole? We pay your wages!"
Goon: "Yeah, you're an arsehole".
Me: "That's shocking customer service; I want your name and number".

I got his number-number 9, Response. I then started going into the turnstile, and after a delayed Response :)p) suddenly starts shouting after me as I go through..

"Yeah, allright, you can have my name, it's (something unpronounceable, began with an a...Admiral Akbar? Something like that....)."

I'll make a complaint; whoever he is employed by obviously doesn't give a crap about the supporters. As a result of the 5 minutes before entering the ground I was bloody furious for the first 20 minutes. If I was a casual supporter taking in a game, I wouldn't exactly be enamoured by the experience and probably wouldn't go back.

Oh and LOL at the idea of it being a "massive game"...they really do think that we're all idiots, don't they?
