So who would you have playing who in the movie version of this sorry saga?

For me the ones that spring to mind are....

TF - Bloke off the dancing baby quit cigarette product advert who could come in as the SISU/ACL rent negotiations meeting is ending and say "so what have I missed".
PWKH - Al Pacino or Martin Sheen
JS - Meryl Streep or Anne Hathaway (not a fan of either) but would always stay in the shadows so we never see their face.
GR. - Sir Ian McKellen
Anyone got anymore?

It'll play in a cinema to a small weekly crowd but we'll refuse to pay to screen it there despite mounting arrears.

Obviously the first director will be sacked and the second will be seduced by a bigger film midway through filming and another one will have to be found at short notice.

TF = Jim Carrey (as Fletcher Reede)
PWKH - John Gielgud
JS - Lucy Liu (O-Ren Ishii)
KD - Worzel Gummidge

PF - Buzz Lightyear "To Infinity & Beyond"

Or for the part of TF we could get Harry Enfield to do his Nice but Dim character but that might be a bit obvious. How about Kim Jong Un, although a rendition of "Ronery" as he walks around Ryton is a must.

It has to be Glenn Close as Joy.
Javier Bardem as Tim Fisher
Anthony Hopkins as Coun. John Mutton
Alec Baldwin as Ken Dulaly
Ricky Gervais as Ray Ranson
Danny De Vito as Hoffman

I think you need to recast Gervais as KD! I can just imagine him getting his guitar out to inspire the lads...free love on the free love freeway, oh yeah.

Larry Hagman as Preston Haskell IV.
Andy Dick as Len Brody.
Hugh Grant as Tim Fisher.
Bette Davis as Joy Seppala (that ones so obvious I can't believe it hasn't been called already!).
Simon Pegg as Steven Pressley (he has the failed facial hair).
Terrance Alexander (Hugerford in Bergerac) as Joe "it's all above board, Jim!" Elliott.
Lee Nelson as Steven Jennings (for the interviews).
Harry Shearer (as Waylon Smithers) as Stuart Linnell.
Jimmy Nail as Steve Waggott.
Les Dawson as John Clarke.

Morgan Freeman to do the voice-over.."I'd like to tell you that SISU made a success of Coventry City, and that Joy and the board fought the good fight...I'd like to tell you that, but football isn't a fairytale world..."

Could Joe Elliott be played by singer-and-occasional-actor Neil Diamond? They share the same coiffure, and mahogany-from-a-tin skin hue.

And SISU's 'plant' on message-boards, trying to influence opinion in the face of reality - namely Grendel - could be played by Baldric

Carry On Up The Ricoh - The Cast
Sid James as Ken Dulieu
Terry Scott as Tim Fisher
Bill Maynard as Steve Waggott
Hattie Jacques as Joy
Peter Butterworth as John Clarke
Frankie Howerd as Stuart Linnell
Bernard Bresslaw as Joe Elliott
Windsor Davies as Onye Igwe
Jim Dale as PH4
Kenneth Connor as Len Brody

I didn't know we could cast dead actors otherwise I would have had Edward G Robinson as Elliott

It's okay they can do amazing things with computer effects now, costs a bit more but then we'll just parcel that debt up and assign it to some company in the Cayman Islands and then go into Admin.

Couldnt have done a worse job & may have had a laugh in the process

I now have visions of the team coming out onto the pitch all doing Silly Walks.
