Really? This is not to do with football but financial structure. All ex premier clubs after parachute payments have collapsed have seen an inevitable slide through the trap door.
Explain then why wolves Blackburn and Blackpool are now looking down the abyss.
The statistics are beyond factual disprovement. You can quote you know more about football and other meaningless emotional rhetoric but the facts are there and the time had come.
The notion we are above relegation to this league when so many "big" clubs have experienced this detracts from your claim of knowledge. In simple parlance our time had come. We are in with a chance if recovery, administration and colossal points reduction will end all hope.
Not every club has been relegated. Each club is different. The likes of Blackburn and Wolves have owners even more inept than ours. West Brom got relegated from the prem a couple of times and went back up and are now a comfortable mid-table team. Middlesborough, Burnley, Watford, Hull, Derby, Bolton have all been prem teams in the past decade or so yet a majority of them are pushing automatic promotion or at least the play-offs. There's some undeniable statistics for you.
