I remember a certain Mark Robins saying pretty much EXACTLY the same thing! Five months later he found out the TRUTH about the clubs current state.

What is he comparing what he has heard to?
What is the situation at Falkirk.

Sounds like he will be in the same boat but at a more high profile place and probably for more money

I am questioning the length of the contract given that there could be no more club by the end of the season, did he insist on a longer contract with assurances that if the club went under he would get full payment of the remainder of. his contract?? Or on the other hand have sisu already determined their plan of action with regards the future of the club and all is fine??

For what it is worth i think that sisu are banking that ACL/Council won't pull the plug or twist the knife, but i also think things are happening we have no knowledge of yet, that isn't saying i think there's a third party waiting in the wings, just we ain't privvy to whatever plan that sisu have.

SISU have relied on ACL and the council not reacting quickly or not having the nerve to press the button all along. What has happened is that ACL has gone one step at a time and closed off options at each step for both sides but primarily SISU. (To get settlement then ACL have to take action before the end of the season but that's just an opinion. )

There are certainly things happening behind the scenes on both sides and neither side is going to make it public.

My guess is that SISU are trying to move the League share to a different company and trying to work with the league to do it, then SISU will let CCFC or CCFC Group go which will break the lease, then are either serious in their statements to play elsewhere or rely on ACL not wanting to lose the football club and the income it generates. ACL I would guess are looking at every option they can short of winding up CCFC

Are the details of complicated legal and accountancy matters going to be explained to a new manager ? I wouldnt have thought so, the guy just wants to manage/coach footballers (quite right in his interest in only that too imo but he has to have an eye on what is going on off the pitch and decide to risk or not). If they did explain it then it would be from the SISU side of things (understandably) and is very likely to be positive spin of their position (why wouldnt it be if you want to sign the guy). Taking it even further SP is only an employee, one not covered by football creditors rules, there are probably no guarantees so the risk to SISU is unchanged by a 3.5 year contract

Bottom line though is if SISU/CCFC do not offer a normal contract to SP then it effectively says to all and sundry that there is evidence that the club is probably not a going concern.................... simply can not do that in these times of financial crisis at the club........ sisu lose control, lose the club, and any prospect of recovering funds.

They have to carry on business as usual.

to answer the OP's question.......... I would have thought so, he will also have been told more than us too..... all from a sisu perspective........ its to be expected really

If SISU put us under, it doesn't make much more difference to pay off one more contract does it. A deposit he's probably been the cheapest manager we've had jn years aside from thorn as he was appointed within. So I feel the contract length is just keeping up positive appearance, nothing more.

You must be rich if you think £45 million is no investment. They have done a lot of things wrong but they have put a significant amount of money into the club over the years and continue to do so (albeit now mainly in funding losses).

If that is true a certain group Of club owners (which cannot be named and this is hypothetical, libel lawyers) are either,
1) Terrible businessmen, pouring money down a drain.
Or
2) Creative accountants... Using every tax avoidance strategy etc. to fund a certain football club (hypothetical again )
We are very gullible if we believe they have really spent that kind of money. So, there you have it... Cooks or incompetents?

If the club went under he would be a super creditor but would only get what he had earned to the date of insolvency.

Why is it so hard to believe. Relegated in 2001 and £60 million in debt. Sold players to get down. New board comes in and it's operation premiership. Then the debt spirals to £40 million. In come sisu and they pay off £15 million in debts and carry on losing the same as the rest.

Clubs a basket case. No real investor would touch it with a barge pole.

I don't believe the league would let itself get involved in shenanigans like that, I certainly hope not, it sounds like another dodgy mechanism to shed debt & obligations. I think they learnt a lesson with Wimbledon/Milton Keynes. However there is no sign that SISU ever intend to negotiate, they get a bit more & they move the goalposts etc. etc.. eventually someone has to call their bluff. Which would be a tragedy, but one caused by SISU's unreasonable behaviour.

Not suggesting for one moment that the League are conspiring in any wrong doing JG, but they have a duty to consider proposals from a member club especially if that maintains the "integrity" of the league in their opinion. It is going to depend on what they are told, what questions they ask, the answers they receive and the League rules & regulations. Clearly SISU are trying to do something because there is no reason to continue the dispute if they do not believe they can find a way out. The single most valuable item CCFC and their owners have is the League share. SISU are trying to find a way out that benefits them and will need to work with the Football League to do it.
