James Bailey

If you happen to see him on your travels, can you drop him back at Ryton please

He's not been the same player since his injury.

I was delighted with him before he got injured and he looked pure class for this division.

He has now indeed gone missing. I am wondering if he is still carrying an injury or is just knackered.

maybe true on yesterday

the 3 completly awful players were
cameron/martin - both looked like they had never played or seen a football before
baker - not wanting to go near the ball, and if he did, more than happy to give it to their team, including the kind pass that led to the 3rd goal

bailey is in the next group with jennings, christie and mcsheffrey

the other 4 were not much better but i think were more average

Bailey has been class .... but for the past few games he has been playing poorly.

I'm his biggest fan, but even I have to say he has been poor of late.

I agree Bailey has been poor recently but this guy is right. The way we're playing right now is not suiting him.

Agreed and Robins seemed to get the best out of him...he is a different player now he has gone...

He's generally been poor since coming back on loan, however that's not my issue with him yesterday, he spent 90 mins hiding, rarely got on the ball, rarely put in a tackle and rarely pressed their players. He hid for the entire 90 mins, which is why he doesn't stick out as a totally woeful performance.

When we were at our best bailey and Jennings were pressing high and getting into people's faces but he has stopped doing that.

bailey is class, you cant play when the ball is being hoofed 10 feet over your head.

What Otis said plus - he is a grafter who can pass, rather than a playmaker. I just didnt see any of those qualities that were so evident before Christmas.

Yep, Jennings is garbage.

Someone wrote on twitter that bailey and Jennings remind them of Hughes and Doyle yesterday.

Ooohhhhh .... you've just made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Have also just developed a very twitchy eye a la Chief Dreyfuss from the Pink panther films style, so thanks for that! :(

My problem with Jennings is that he looks the part, gets into the tackle and a good percentage of the time does appear to come out of it with the ball BUT then either the half-tackled player takes the ball back or he just pussy foots a shite "pass"to no one in particular.
He needs to make sure his prospective opponent stays well and truely "tackled" ie in a heap followed by taking responsibility with the ball that he has won and play off a simple pass, meaning he needs to improve his awareness of his team mates somewhat.

Bailey on the other hand went in after 90 minutes, not for the first time since he has been here, without the need to have his kit laundered, which suggests to me that this is the reason he his here and not pressing for a place at Derby.
Yes the ball was flying at least10 yards over his head for most of the game but that also applied to the Swindon,Yeovil, Crewe midfield alike and still they managed to boss this area of the pitch.

Niether Jennings or Bailey demand the ball or berrate a team mate for not giving them it, neither follow the fullback/winger on attacking play to make up the triangles needed to break defences down, and sit far too deep to be of any support to the lone striker or player in the hole.

Football isn't a difficult game but it requires a modicome of guile and no small amount of natural ability and brains-if neither of the last two are evident then they must be replaced with brute force and the absolute will to win.

Unfortunately for us our whole squad seem to be bereft of all of these basic commodities.
