My problem with Jennings is that he looks the part, gets into the tackle and a good percentage of the time does appear to come out of it with the ball BUT then either the half-tackled player takes the ball back or he just pussy foots a shite "pass"to no one in particular.
He needs to make sure his prospective opponent stays well and truely "tackled" ie in a heap followed by taking responsibility with the ball that he has won and play off a simple pass, meaning he needs to improve his awareness of his team mates somewhat.
Bailey on the other hand went in after 90 minutes, not for the first time since he has been here, without the need to have his kit laundered, which suggests to me that this is the reason he his here and not pressing for a place at Derby.
Yes the ball was flying at least10 yards over his head for most of the game but that also applied to the Swindon,Yeovil, Crewe midfield alike and still they managed to boss this area of the pitch.
Niether Jennings or Bailey demand the ball or berrate a team mate for not giving them it, neither follow the fullback/winger on attacking play to make up the triangles needed to break defences down, and sit far too deep to be of any support to the lone striker or player in the hole.
Football isn't a difficult game but it requires a modicome of guile and no small amount of natural ability and brains-if neither of the last two are evident then they must be replaced with brute force and the absolute will to win.
Unfortunately for us our whole squad seem to be bereft of all of these basic commodities.
