I'm travelling up for the Villa game next week.

1. The official car park is £20 - and that feels steep. Are there cheaper/bookable options within walking distance?

2. I'd rather not get trapped in after the game. Do both Car Park A&C get held back when the A444 is closed post-match?

Any advice gratefully received!

C doesn’t but you have to turn right

With everyone having to turn right and the traffic lights don't expect to get out of car park C in a hurry.

Unless you leave about ten minutes early.

Tesco for free. Buy something for £50 to be safe in case the parking company ask to see the receipt then return the item later.

Done it loads.

If I’m in the car two minutes or so after the end of the game I’m home in 20 minutes and it’s 6 miles away

St. Finbarr’s Sports & Social Club at 303 Holbrook Lane (CV6 4DG) offers dedicated event parking located about a 10-minute walk from the Coventry Building Society Arena.
(Parking near St Finbarr's Sports & Social Club from £0.80),

Around 10 minutes to the stadium.Capacity & Space: Roughly 500 spaces; suitable for cars and van-sized vehicles with no height restrictions.
Facilities: CCTV, security fencing, on-site toilets, and refreshments/hot food available.Opening Times: Typically opens 3 hours before kick-off and closes 1 hour after the final whistle for major events.Cost & Booking: Standard event rates generally start around £5.00 to £10.00. You can pre-book spaces via services like JustPark or pay on-site depending on the specific event.

Always go to Finbarrs. Increased from £5 to £10, but that's fair enough and still much better than paying the club's rip off prices.

Finbarrs looks great!

Not sure how to book - so might just to turn up in good time. (Let me know if you think that's foolish)

I've been parking on someone's drive via YourParking for years - but the price appears to have quadrupled.

100mile drive home - then up for work at 6.30!

The Cherry Tree has invested in a tarmac surface and painted bays for their car park. I think they're charging £10.

You can pay on entry at Finbarrs. We normally park just outside the parking zones around Watery Lane, it's about a 20-25 minute walk & if you're brave enough you can get on northbound m6 through Corley services, not sure if you can get on southbound m6 🤔

Yeah you can!

The Tesco thing always made me laugh. Won’t pay to park officially but will spend £50 on something they probably don’t need just to get “free” parking in Tesco.

Don’t dilly dally at FT, and you’ll get out of C in no time. You don’t even need to leave before the final whistle.

I used to buy a pair of shoes at M&S and take them back after a few weeks. :ROFLMAO:
But you have to reply to the fine letter with a scan of the receipt.

Is there no time limit at Tesco then, as long as you spend £50?

C is let go immediately whereas A is held back until the coaches exit. Very lucky if you can buy in car park C by the way!

You're ok up to 5 hours.

The signs/website contradict themselves with regards parking for more than 5 hours.
I got fined when I parked there for.kore than 5hours when we lifted the Championship trophy.

I didn't have to pay.

There is a reduced time limit for match days.

This sounds a great idea! Not! Clearly sounds like hes not from Cov as he's 'driving up' for the game. So rather than just pay £10 for parking, he can instead buy something for more than £50 in tesco to park for free, to then spend another £60 on fuel on a 200 mile round trip and take half a days holiday at work so he can return it a few days later. All to save paying a tenna at Finbars! Makes perfect sense!

Finbarrs is sold out.

I live 200 miles away from Cov. We have Marks and Spencer’s where I live too (amazing hey?). I tend to return there rather than doing a 400 mile round trip to take back a jumper.

Wait do you think you have to return stuff to stores you bought from? Gonna blow your mind that.

Wait for the whistle where were sat (PP in 19) and it takes 10 minutes or more to get out the stadium, by the time you've got to C you're fucked. I think a couple of times a few seasons back it's taken over an hour to get to Earlsdon, What's that 4miles or something?

We now park a mile out for free and walk, saves a bunch and you get your steps in.

Same as I do, it's only a pain if it rains heavily. Unfortunately it is not an option for people who can't easily walk any distance.

There are places just outside the zone you can chuck it on the road as well if you don't mind walking.

Yeah not great if you struggle with mobility but it's not much further than Finbarrs etc.

We always park in car park c usually right near the entrance doesn’t take long to get out and away at all x
