Death List 2026 (1 Viewer)

That’s two out of three - lucky enough to catch Billy Gibbons in July - was magnificent
Not hanging around
Frank Beard’s passing necessitates the cancellation of ZZ Top tour dates that had been scheduled for tonight in Salt Lake City and Wednesday’s show in Colorado Springs. The band will resume its current The Big One! Tour this weekend with two dates in Austin.

Just heard this on CWR 😔

Dollywood is part of our road trip next year. Anyone been?

No, but I subscribe to Sleeperdude on YT, and he/they had a family day out there on it fairly recently. Can't recall too much, but I think it was pretty expensive and pretty busy. No surprises there then!

I hadn't realised how generous she was to so many causes. Didn't even know this existed until now: About Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
A lot of people are only finding out about this today because unlike a lot of celebrities her philanthropy was quietly done. She wasn't out doing the media rounds to hype herself up every time she did something.

Just got Dolly Partons funeral details she’s having 4 pallbearers and 2 lads trying to close the lid

Realise I'm taking this off topic, but why does anyone subscribe to someone on YT? Do you get additional benefits or materisl unavailable to others? So many say like/subscribe and I've dropped the odd like but dont subscribe to anyone. Assume there's a cost? Sorry, you can probably tell I'm a bit of a technophobe.

Subscribing is free. There's a feed on there that is only the things your subscribe to. I subscribe to a ton of bands and sometimes the only way I know they've got a new release is when it pops up on that feed.

There is I believe a second tier of subscriptions where you pay a monthly fee and get content that isn't available to everyone else. Never done that and not sure its used much as I rarely see it mentioned. But most of the stuff I'm watching isn't 'content creators'.

Seems more common for people to push potential paying subscribers to something like Patreon, where presumably they are charged less fees.

Thanks

I'm guessing that they want you to subscribe because you then get a notification when they add a new video, and I guess someone somewhere has shown that makes it more likely that you'll watch it and they'll get views.

It's also kind of like a recommendation to others. If someone has loads of subscribers other people are likely to think that their content will be good and give them a go.

YT want it because it gives them more data about you. They will then say they can better tailor recommendations for you (people who watched x also watched y etc.) but it's basically to try and get you to spend even more time on there. I don't think they pay creators for the number of subscribers though, as someone could just subsribe but then never watch anything by that person again.

Tim Curry being reported on Twitter
i just heard the news. very, very sad.
absolutely love rocky horror, and have nothing but admiration for the guy for attending the reunions after having had a stroke. you could just see the love they had for him.

the man himself, in all his finery...
