I thought the bank accounts have been frozen so i thought surely this would have put a hold on transfers aswell ? unless southampton are agreeing to pay all the wages which i doubt very much. anyone clear this up for me ???

also lee carsley is being allowed to sign players so does that mean theres a good chance he will be getting the job... he wont cost much he has a good relationship with the players ?? i know to make playoffs we are going to need a new defender but it wasnt essential that we got one now.

the bank account hasnt been frozen by the ACL 3rd Party debotor order ........ what has been frozen is the amount that was in the account on the day the order was served.... might be £1 or £100,000 who knows....... the order doesnt stop the account being used or say banking £50k a day later and that £50K being used to pay things

In any case SISU could pay from other accounts if they want

As for the defender well if Wood is injured for weeks we need cover........ quite likely SW has done the shopping around on this.

Fisher and Waggott opened negotiations for McGoldrick when Thorn was in charge, signed him when Shaw was the caretaker manager. Carsley may have been given a veto role in whether we sign a particular centre back of those available, and he might have a say over McDonalds recall- but don't read too much into this other than We do need a centre half now in Wood's absence.

After the way Edje played on Saturday it was a warning to bring in more defensive options, The first goal he let his defender get away and didn't make a clean contact while clearing and for the second goal only Edje knew what he was trying to do!

It's great having this massive squad of ours isn't it! I mean really useful when we get an injury.. there always decent cover available

Our defence has been our weakness all season. We lost Cranie and Keogh in the Summer, McPake at Hibs back to fitness looks better than any we have left! Cameron's rusty and looks to have gone backwards after his two year break from being a regular. Wood's rubbish, a massive drain on the finances and at this point in time crocked. Edge is Edge-has his moments good and bad, but is probably at best a decent L1 player. Martin figured in a L1 promotion campaign and brings height and power. The way we defend set pieces, I'd say a CB was the number one priority! Lets hope Cody turns out to be like a new signing up front.

As far as the finance aspect goes-he'll be on a pretty low wage as he went to Southampton from Eastleigh. I wouldn't be surprised if Southampton are willing to pay his wages to get him some football-and perhaps put him in the shop window seeing as he's well down the pecking order for them.

It is a loan, so he just need some wages that will come from where the rest if wages come from, I assume?

As i said on another thread, the order must have already been sorted in order to catch any monies from Uddersfield . Inside info or just luck, make your own mind up.

Or they might have said "What do you think we need right now Lee?"
Lee - "A central defender & more strike-power"
"Anyone specific in mind that'd be just right, all things considered?"
Lee - "Yes...his name is Aaron Martin for the defence side. And we already have the Cody McDonald recall as an option up front"...& the rest is history?
