They are surely in for a battering? I don't know how we haven't scored over these two legs. I'm really hoping we knock 4-5 past them

Crewe seem to have the knack of soaking up all City's pressure, the stats look generally in our favour, particularly shots on target (unless the number is misleading & they were mostly soft attempts).

What?! We WERE unlucky. I'm not going to stop saying it!

In fact, I'd rather just forget about it!

So (leaving aside the fact its Judas Robins), would you have been happy for his after match analysis with the players to have consisted of "You were unlucky, don't worry about it".

Or would you prefer the manager to analyse why we didn't win so he can then do something to stop it happening again?

The amount of times we lose because of 'bad luck' over the years, Singers FC must have upset some gypsies or something.

Loser mentality.

Eh? Because I said we were unlucky I've got a loser mentality! I don't think I suggested we shouldn't have worried about it but I'm not going to walk around saying we were shit when we were clearly not!

No it's not a loser mentality you don't say it every game but you don't berate players after a good performance that would demoralise them we were unlucky there goalie was fantastic. If you ask any top level manager that would say unlucky lads be we have got to take the we chances and then work on it the training ground they wouldn't killed them.

Didnt mean you specifically had a loser mentality, I meant the club as a whole. Didnt mean to cause offense so I apologise.

The point I am trying to make is there is always a reason a team loses, which I don't accept is down to luck. It was poor decision making that killed us on that night.

Was it the Stevenage manager that said he instills it into his players that its not acceptable to lose any game? Thats the sort of mentality I want here.

3 things were wrong on that night.

1) Dunn was in goal in the second half

2) there goalie had a blinder

3) we weren't clinical enough.

2 of those are down to luck. They are also the reason we lost

Conceding 3 goals wasn't unlucky, it was poor and totally unprofessional.

What I'm saying is though that poor decision making doesn't mean we played badly, it's just poor decision making at vital times. The defending was shit at key times, but we played well and their keeper was superb. We also hit the post. There's people saying it was a 2 legged affair, we should've just taken a 1-0 loss and it was unprofessional. But if we'd just defended after going 1 down can you imagine the uproar there'd have been that we didn't show any fight and go for it?

All 3 of those things suggest that Crewe were a better team than us on the night don't they?

I don't disagree with that, and I never said that we played badly either.

Its more just we need to sort out taking our chances and learn to defend. These oh so nearly games are so frustrating to watch.

Ok, so lets learn from it!!!

This was a practice run, how to set out your stall for a two-legged play off..

We just need to make sure we approach the one that matters , in the right way.

Think European football matches, a la Liverpool

Yep, we need to be more clinical. I agree.

Exactly, except we have lost because we didn't play in the right way and learn from it.

What I don't understand is why robins would allow the players to attack so much when it was two legged affair?

I just hope this doesn't ruin Saturday. Crewe have the upper hand, they know how to play against us.

and we dont??????????????????????????????

they only beat us because of dunn and a gung ho attitude, 2nd leg they didnt need to attack granted but we once again carved out many chances

we have broken the mental duck by scoring against them

talk of a battering is silly but if we make same amount of chances i am confident we will score now.

2-0 cov
