however, I looked at 7th place also over last few seasons, and I think the conclusion was that all teams with +75 points made the play offs

No, if everyone gets the minimum, we simply need one point more than the team in sixth place. Or even a better goal difference. And that holds true however many points the teams above us end up with.

All of which proves that this statistics malarkey is bollox.

How did you work this out?

If everyone keeps up their seasons form 7 teams will finish on 80+ points and if we continue the robinsesque form we will finish 8th on 75.

Ok, so attached are the stats for the L1 playoffs for the last 10 years showing how many points each of the final top 6 had after 33 games... (if there was a sado emoticon, i'd insert it now...)

Only 5 teams out of 60 had 50 points or less. Or looking at it another way, 1 team every couple of years makes it, so why can't that be us!

so on average teams who get in the play offs get an average of 23 points per game over the last 13 games

that will also means that teams drop out of the play offs with a lower average
Also means that teams currently out of the play offs will need a higher average to make the play offs

Therefore i suggest 75 points with our superior goal difference will be sufficient

25 points from 13 games
7 wins 4 draws 2 defeats

We are not out of it certainly but it gets harder every time we drop points, plus I do think the off field and manager stuff will affect the players. Still plenty to play for at the moment
