Conveniently clips out the 15 game start to the season where our record was 10-4-1.

Southampton’s current form is the best stretch to date, to be fair. However, we’ve been coasting to winning the league so we could draw where Southampton needed to win.

I genuinely believe we’d have beaten Sheff Wednesday and Blackburn if the promotion run-in was closer.
I agree, but it’s a response to the argument from Southampton fans and others who are keen to ‘prove’ that we only succeeded because the league was poor.

Notwithstanding that Southampton have far, far more money at their disposal.

It’s also objectively a bullshit claim. Teams have won the league with 81 points in the past and teams winning promotion straight from L1. Under Lampard we also hit traditional automatic promotion form last season too, just not on track for 100+ points. Most seasons, Sheff U’s 92 points see them promoted and we will almost definitely surpass that.

None of the promoted teams from L1 got relegated, the parachute payment teams are comfortably in the playoffs/automatics… what’s uniquely bad about the league this year then?

We’re on track to finish on about the same points as Maresca’s Leicester team and won the league earlier than them.

We also had a freak outbreak of illness at the most fixture intensive and punishing part of the season. Without that I think we’d be pushing 100 points in all seriousness.

Exactly, for all the Southampton fans saying ‘what if Eckert started the season’, we could equally say the same about signings we made in Jan, particularly Onyeka.

We’ve lost one game since he joined and the draws I’m pretty confident would’ve been wins if weren’t cruising to the title.

Norwich fans will also be asking ‘what if Clement had started the season’. Well, he didn’t. Just as we asked last season ‘what if we had Lampard all along’. Yeah, but we didn’t.

But he will start next season, as will ‘Tonda’, so they can prove how good they are then.

Southampton and Norwich fans should take heed of this young man:

The absolute is clear: we won the league without breaking much of a sweat. Mission ‘HMS Piss The League’ accomplished.

1. Hope your partner is recovering
2. Hope you get your flights back tomorrow
3. Can I have you tickets if you don't ;)

and good luck with the training for next years marathon although its always FA cup semi final weekend so maybe go for Manchester or another one
FA Cup semi final generally isn't an issue if you're quick enough and get logistics sorted. Jim Ratcliffe ran it before watching us v Man United.

If i was rich id bet you we wont. But as im not, I will just disagree. We wont get more than 1 point from the next 2, jobs done, no one gives a shit and that will be reflected

They beat us last time as Moore had a good game and Thomas was suspended. Bobby would love a good scrap if they start with Moore again and we should have too much for them. Got to freshen things up though as need a high energy performance. Torp in for tank, Eccles in for Rudi and kKH / MVE combo up the right, with Simms up top. Then tell them to press hard from the front and each time one of them stops working for the team fresh legs replace them. I don’t want to see Esse out there showboating and know Eccles isn’t a natural number 10 but he brings energy, knows how to put a foot in and is good like Torp at taking a shot from around the box.

He won't.
But those are the 3 players that Lampard speaks highly of for their influence around the club.

Think people are hoping they get some minutes Sunday to say thank you and goodbye. But he certainly won't be starting Wilson.

As others have said, this is an important game for the play offs, we owe it to the others to give it our best.
We owe it to ourselves to pump these and lift the trophy in style.
