Contract ends this summer. Free agent. Maybe our first real signing. he's already used to Sky Blue kit!

Jesus wept.

He's played 7 league games this season due to injury and is on 250 bags a week.

To be fair to him he managed 11 league games last season. 🙄
First of all he has been on the bench most of the time, not just some imjury. Pep just does not like him for whatever reason. No new contract offered. He is the quality we have to have in our squad. We will be paying prem wages, get used to it. 250k a week is nonsense as well. A player like him will be looking to stay in the prem, play regular and get a contract to steady his future. That may well be achievable on a lower wage, but yes 80k/week for a few additions is what we have to get used to if we are to stay up.
This is the type of theory y'all have to get your head around.

No thanks. We got rid of a crock to Rectum, we don't want another. Besides I didn't think he was that good, he's always had a mistake in him.

Ok so look at it this way...
Stones would command what 10m, 18m transfer fee? We get him for free and pay him 100k a week for two years, help us stay up which would cost around 12m in wages. 2 years in the prem would be rich pickings and establish ourselves. Now Stones or a similar player like it makes sense wouldn't you say?

He’s 31 with an horrific injury record, he would command nowhere near that

People saying they wouldn’t take John stones 😂😂😂

He will go somewhere far superior to us on wages we couldn’t afford anyway. Elite level cb when fit. Heard Italy mentioned, would make sense and he could probably manage injuries better there.

He won't be coming here. He is not what we need really, way too much risk. We will push our budgets and top wage brackets but we won't be getting anyone who is currently on 250k per week to make a drop even to 100k. Stones will get offers at established clubs for way more than we could or even should consider.

As Doug said we'll be going after value. Pulling figures out the air and saying it makes sense is just fantasy.

We will need some experience but most of all we need physical athletes who can cope with the pace of the Prem. We need to go after players who are on the up or have had a bit of a set back but have potential not fill the squad with top 5 cast offs on stupid wages

People saying they wouldn't take John Stones understand that the combination of the wages he would command Vs his injury record and risk, is a massive risk for the club. Plus he would never come here.

To many think it's championship manager and that elite players are going to be falling over themselves to join us in the summer to struggle at the bottom end of the league for a snip of the wages they could get elsewhere.

Pep don't want to play him because he will more than likely get injured again, he makes Ben Sheaf look like an every game player
