Hey,

Can 'anyone' go into the Anecdote before a match or do you need to book etc? I'm looking to meet some Pompey friends in there on Tuesday as we have to go separately (I'm travelling earlier for work).

Also, is there a taxi rank at the CBS and what's it like? I'd need to get back to a hotel about 5 miles away....chances of getting a cab?!

Last time I was in there is was anyone could get in but i did have to queue for 10 minutes

Taxis are best just the other side of the train tracks, get out and there is usually a few parked up. If there isn't you just walk you to the roundabout and the drive passed there and you flag one down.

We get back from games via Taxi each game.

Taxi rank is the far end of Tescos. It is busy but plenty of cabs normally role up.

Check. It’s not closed as such but seems to just have a few people in there and it’s not accessible at half time

Ive had my ticket checked in the Anecdote pre match a couple of times, I assume to check im not an away fan but ive never asked.

It is restricted entry on Tuesday, one of the lounges is unavailable so it is being used exclusively by those supporters from that lounge. Entry by production of lounge ticket only.

I think the Anecdote has been season ticket holders for a while, but that may have changed.

As for taxis, get away from the ground. Foleshill Road, Lythalls Lane, somewhere like that.

Your best bet is the Casino but make sure you take ID with you.

As for the Taxi, if you don't need to get off straight away after the game just go back in the Casino, food and drink available, Taxis allowed outside of the Casino.

Yeah, I keep forgetting about the massive f&8king casino! We'll head in there if we can't get into the Anecdote.

As someone who is vertically challenged (and relatively youthful in apperance for a 45yr old), I always have ID with me

SkyblueWeeMan, there's a good reason I mentioned ID, they have tightened rules regarding entry into the Casino before the game, they only allow Everyone to enter the Casino an hour before the game starts, crazy I know.

If you wish to enter earlier than that you need to become a member, doesn't cost you anything but you need ID otherwise you won't get in.
