There's a bit of a difference getting given the trophy at home and winning at home to clinch the title in front of a full house and then receiving the trophy. It would be amazing if it could happen.
I dont see much difference tbh. Id rather win it as early as possible, whenever possible.

One thing I don't quite get with this WBA potential points deduction.....

Leicester's 6 point deduction applied now is for 2023/24, and Albion's would be for 2024/25 with losses of £39m?

Leicester have recently published their 2024/25 accounts showing a £71m loss, so nearly double that of Albion.

Surely if Albion get a deduction then Leicester should get a bigger one???? Haven't seen this being mentioned anywhere :unsure:

Leicester's was mucky because they had a promotion (EFL can't punish a PL club) then appeals etc which delayed things. PL & EFL have different PSR so that further confuses things.

Plus they were in the prem for the 2024/25 season which would be why they haven’t been penalised for that this season.

Don't know where you got them odds from. Millwall 10/1 with Ipswich 2/5, Southampton 6/1 and Middlesborough 9/1.
Yes, sorry I was looking at promotion odds which obviously includes playoffs. Changed slightly this morning but similar. Not being a betting person I'm not to up on these things. I still wouldn't be surprised if Millwall sneaked into 2nd though.

Burnley went up having conceded only 16 goals - conceded 63 so far this season in PL. Anyone who thinks our current defence wouldn't collapse against quality pressing in PL has got their Sky Blue googles on. Reason Sunderland are staying up is because they overhauled their defense and have conceded comparatively few goals.

Burnley have only got 1 of the back 5 from last season playing (same as Sunderland) its just worse now. They just did a shit overhaul

If we managed to sign Rushworth I see a world where we stay up with 3 of the same back 5/6 (MvE & Bobby). I agree the left side needs an overhaul

I'd be euphoric if we won it anywhere

Do you really not see the difference between winning the league watching some bullshit game between Middlesborough and Ipswich at home on the sofa and winning it with 30,000 other sky blues fans?

It would be an experience that most in the ground will remember for the rest of their lives. When it happens, I want to be there, with the rest of the sky blue army, going absolutely fucking mental, celebrating, cheering, shouting, singing etc. I don't just want to turn the TV off and go do the washing up.

If all you care about is getting it over the line and not how/when/where we win it, why even bother watching the matches at all? Just google it on Sunday night and see whether we've won it.

I definitely see a world where we play 5-4-1 or 3-4-3 next season. The main priority will be the defence imo, agree on MVE and Bobby - they will adapt imo.

If we play 5-4-1 we may as well just not play next season. It'd be a capitulation just asking teams to destroy us. If we're going to stay up we need to have the willingness to attack or at least get teams on the break. Sure, our defence is going to need big upgrades to cope at that level either way but our strength is our attacking. We shouldn't lose that to try and mask our weakness.

Lampard played this formation quite a few times in the season he kept Everton up.

We’ll need to change our tactical approach next season because we won’t have the quality to dictate games against top half teams.

Everton were better then that we are now.

Of course we'll have to change the way we play, but I think going ultra defensive and leaving one isolated lone striker up top is a surefire way to failure.

Let's see who we can get in the summer first.

Functionally, 5-4-1 and 3-4-3 are more or less the same formation…

Nope. It was the left side of the back line

I'm in 2 minds about this to be honest.

1 - it's bad to see Chansiri still holding the club to ransom.

2 - This guy coming in knew that Chansiri was a major creditor and that he was owed 15 million. Every club in this position has had to pay creditors to exit administration or take the points deduction. If the new owner doesn't want to start on -15 then pay off the debt. Every other club in this situation has had to do it.

I think it's only a bit more difficult as the majority of the debt is owed to the former owner. If it was owed to a teachers' pension fund, then everyone would obviously be saying that they have to start on -15 next season, or it's not fair on anyone else. I do get why it's causing consternation though.

P.S. F Wednesday. Ground's a shithole, and I haven't forgiven a small minority of their fans after we played them a few years back with Kasey Palmer getting abused.

Ipswich and saints also played this way and got hammered most weeks

We are not "Beggars" we are kings. We are fans of the best team in the league

This is typical of the mindset of some of our fans who seem to think that we should just be grateful for a title win and it doesn't matter how it happens.

FUCK THAT!!!

We have earned every single point and we deserve our moment. If it happens on Sunday, then so be it but no one is going to convince me that it wont be more special if it happens at the CBS when 30k of us are there to share the moment.
