I can see us opting for a CM because the Sheaf sale wasn’t planned. Dan Neil just seem to fit a profile we’d actually be looking at. Right now, I think it’s probably better to consider Eccles an AM and without any wingers, Rudoni and Eccles may end playing more and more.
As per Jimmy’s source we’ve looked at a European CM.

Yeah makes sense, Sheaf was part of the plans until very late.
We must be a massively attractive option for all sorts of players now. European talents wanting a break in the UK, older fringe Prem players wanting a short term challenge and probably the pick of Prem loans when you consider how well our coaches have done and what a unique experience we can offer a youngster.

He only turned 24 a fortnight ago, so theres still time for him to develop, even though hes already captained Sunderland and played 200 games in his career.
I'd trust Lampard to make him a premier league player by next August, and at the very least hed be a decent player to have on the bench.

Never understood the clammer (although can understand to some extent the trepidation from fans pre signing Onyeka).
But honestly, he's not one iota better than Eccles.

I heard that. I’d be disappointed.
Although it’s likely we’re going to be linked with every player from all over the place; from Dan Neil to Bernardo Silva (that rumour starts here), to Manuel Neuer to some bloke from Peterborough.
And quite frankly I’m all for it.

Dan Neil is probably good enough for squad depth but I don’t see him as a starter.

I can't see why we would. Eccles and Torp are better and i'm not sure both of them will stay so signing Neil would be completely pointless. Pretty sure its drivel.

Think O'Nien is more aggressive, but also a loose cannon. I would as soon keep Lati as a squad player (rather than sign O'Nien). Plus Lati gives continuity with regards to morale. That said, we probably need an upgrade - just wouldn't be O'Nien for me.
He’s a good player but there’s a reason he’s got absolutely nowhere near the Sunderland team this year, despite being their captain.
I’m hoping our scouting network extends beyond the Sunderland reserve team.

Peas no! Fried he may not make the cut. Saying that, heard he has a good Chip on him, runs Rings around the opposition. Useful for when the Steaks are high. Puts most of the opposition on their Rump. What's the Sauce? Mayo well give him a chance? Rare opportunity for the lad, deserves a Medallion if he can step up to the Plate.
