CBS Mobile Service (10 Viewers)

Please forgive the very specific and self serving thread but my mobile contract is up in a couple of weeks and I'm looking to change provider.

Literally, the deciding factor of who I go with will hinge on 1 point and 1 point only.

I want to get a mobile signal in the CBS.

I'm with O2 at the moment and as soon as I step foot in the concourse/bowl, you can write off any chance of sending or receiving a text, phone call, dick pic, etc. I get nothing at all.

I see people all around me making calls, sending texts and checking half time scores so my question toy you all is this.

If you are lucky enough to be able to get service inside the CBS. Please, please, please can you let me know who your provider is?

I know how to fix it on Android but the same method doesn't work on iOS. Basically on matchdays the local cell tower is overloaded by 5G signals. I only get any kind of data or reception by dropping my phone down to a 3G signal.

What’s the method?

I'm on O2 and the only workaround I have found so far is changing my settings to 3G. It's slow but it works. Frustrating thing to have to do in 2026 mind.

Open Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > Preferred network type.

Part of the premier league upgrades im sure centres around communications. Therefore having functioning WIFI and phone signals would be top of the agenda.

Settings > Network And Internet > Internet
The Cog Icon next to the network
Preferred Network Type
Drop down to 3G

Tesco mobile which I believe is ran through O2 and the service is shite from about 20 mins before kick off until 20 mins after full time. Can’t access anything.

I’m also on 02.

I sit in the corporate areas ( and it’s no better)

I find it’s ok until kick off and the ground is full and then forget it . It works again at half time etc

I connect to the WiFi at the arena which again is fine until the game starts and that dies too. It’s quite refreshing in a way!

I did bring a mini pocket radio with little earpiece to listen to the Ipswich score on Saturday which had a nice 1980s vibe to it even though I was sitting 20 feet away from Gurney and Oggy !

I suspect like you that O2 on iOS is one of the worst as other people seem to be connecting to stuff.

iOS. Does that make a difference?

I assume the signal is what it is and it either gets to the handset or not.
Having switched between iPhones and Androids a few times, I've tended to find the antennas better in Android phones for signal in congested areas.

However, signal in general in the CBS for mobile data is just not great.

I'm with EE and can get no service whatsoever at the CBS. A guy who sits in front of me is with Vodafone and he gets service.

Hopefully with promotion, one of the upgrades will be to the stadium's WiFi/Internet/Network etc.

Weird. I moved from O2 to spusu, which runs on the EE network, and finally managed to get signal at the CBS.

Admittedly there's little chance of data working once it starts filling up but I couldn't even get a text on O2.

I’m on O2 and Vodafone and sit in the North stand. O2 is a waste of time once I’m in the ground but I can get a connection with Vodafone. It’s slow but I can use it checking the scores at the other games.

I'm on android Google phone with Tesco and get jack shit. My wife has an iPhone with vida phone and gets jack shit..

Sometimes I don't even bother taking my phone I don't see the point. They used to work (although it could be intermittent), until Frasiers took over - then nothing.

Nowt to do with Fraser’s, everything to do with 30k people there regularly now.

Are you android? I’m iOS so maybe that’s why

Strange how it stopped working almost immediately and long before we were selling out

I’m EE and get next to fuck all in my seat. I walk up the steps about 8 rows it’s slightly better, but really only when I’m in the concourse does it work.

I've seen Vodaphone working in the stadium.
My phone uses the O2 network and it gets no reception.

I've not seen the wifi option since the start of last season.

Someone who works at the CBS told me that when Wasps went bust, their wifi provider came in and ripped out most of their transmitters to claw back some of the cash they were owed. They only left the ones that were either not easily accessible or too old to re-purpose so I'm guessing there are still parts of the arena that get it but not in/around block 24.

I'm 02 and don't get a service. My son has Three and he sometimes does, sometimes doesn't.

I’m on 3 and get plenty of 5G. Browser always works and on the occasions I need to make or take a call it’s always connected, albeit I don’t need to very often so a pretty small sample on the call front. iPhone 17/IOS.
