I was Scrubs obsessed during my young adulthood and yeah, it's been pretty great. Definitely feels like they've managed to take the essence of old-school Scrubs and bring it into 2026. I love that the classic characters are acting their age and dealing with the tribulations that come with it rather than just going through the same stuff they did before, and that the newer characters stand on their own without being a rehash of what's already happened.

Latest is a proper old-school Scrubs tearjerker, god damn 😭

That Brendan Fraser episode still makes me well up every time I see it

Just about to watch the first episode of the newest series of Taskmaster, and will admit to a slight crush on Amy Gledhill

Went to see Undertone last night, a new A24 horror, that relies mainly on the sound design as it's in a podcast format.
Bit of a slow burn, but I thought it was good and really unsettling.
Definitely recommend seeing in the cinema as it relies on surround sound to have different sounds from different sides.

Do you know if it`ll be getting a " general " release or just select cinemas, as sometimes their stuff doesn`t go on the likes of the multi plexs ?

It was released in the US a month or so ago, but I think it's available in most cinemas now over here?
I saw it at our local Showcase and I can see it's also being shown at Odeon, so I think it's now on general release

I've been watching Taskmaster again from the start on Channel 4's streaming as it's lovely familiar background viewing and it will hopefully motivate me to watch the more recent seasons that I drifted away from after covid. Three seasons in and I don't know how he's ranked generally but it reiterates that Paul Chowdhry is right up there with my all-time favourite contestants.

Sphinx is a dutch crime show streamed on 4. It’s like the film Seven on steroids. No holds barred. Grisly murders, suggestions of incest, child abuse and an ultimate ending where sympathy becomes anger at the protagonist - it’s a must watch

Thanks for the rec on this.

You weren`t lying when you said it was like Seven on steroids !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This must`ve given the censors a real headache as to whether to let it air on mainstream tv.

I also thought that there was influences from Series one of True Detective in there too.

Excellent, but won`t be for everyone due to the content and subject matter.

Looks like there`s going to be a follow on too.

I watched Wasteman last night. If I was in any doubt beforehand I do not want to go to prison.

Despite its brutality it’s a fairly well trodden storyline, David Jonsson’s character is due to be released and has to keep out of trouble for just a few more days and hopes to get clean and see his son for the first time in 13 years.
Enter his new cell mate, who has his own ideas about things…
Porridge it ain’t.

I thought it was great. Jonsson is fast becoming one of my favourite actors.

Along with, Josh Finan, who played the smakhead Marco in the Responder, he`s one who is being tipped for very big things in the future.

Anyone been to see the new Mummy yet ?

I`m holding off until I get some reviews from people who`ve been to see it, rather than the critics, who`ve by and large panned it.

Been watching The Tommy Tiernan show on the dodgy stick on the Irish channel RTE

Basically he presents a chat show but doesn’t know who the guests are till he comes out . He’s a very good host and had some great guests . You can get it on the Rte iplayer
His guests tonight so far have been Kathy Burke and Peter Claffey ( the dude from a knight of the seven kingdoms)
