I think Neil is exactly the sort of signing we’ll avoid. Little value and little better than what we have. We’ll have to invest less and gamble. Probably 2-3 prem proven with the rest from far and wide.

We need a load of new players, fully onboard with some foreign imports and punts on data signings.

But I think we need a core of proven, seasoned pros:

2 keepers, Preferably Rushworth if not we need some quality from our scouting network. Then I'd really like an old Prem pro who can come in as cover like a Carson, Forster, Heaton character.

Defender needs someone with experience, going to be key

Midfield, we need some physicality, big athletic feckers. Neither Grimes or Frank are giants I want a beast in there as an option

Striker, can't think who but a gamble signing in the mould of how Calvert-Lewin was for Leeds. Maybe a bit of baggage but proven quality.

Be interesting to see if Lampard utilises Chelsea links. Loftus Cheek was linked with a premiership return in January and could have that Xhaka effect. I’d love someone like Tomori alongside Thomas but think that’s beyond us.

They wont sign a third keeper unless Wilson leaves. He spent a career as a back up so i see no reason why he wouldnt be for his final year of his contract.

Saw a London football website going over a couple Chelsea players we could pick up.

Just an opinion list but George would be a good pick as would Guiu.

I would be sending Dovin out on loan, after his injury he needs to play not sit on the bench here. It would do neither us or him any favours. We'd be in a good position to demand he gets game time in the championship. Wilson can be 3rd choice. Rushworth 1st (if we can) then look about see if there is someone coming to the end of their career available with a bit of prem experience

Just custom made to piss off half of SBT this. I swear I didn’t write it!

Just read that Raphael Guerreiro is officially a free agent as of June. Great pedigree. Plenty of game time and goals at a very decent level. And let's be honest, as much improved as JDS is this season, improvement at LB is hugely required. At 32 aswell he could offer a bit of age and experience to a young squad. Free, so nothing really to lose unless his wage demands are ludicrous. But at his age, and as a free agent, I can see him being a reachable target.

Maybe, just think if I’m Brighton I give him a year on loan to prove himself at PL level before I decide.
Trouble is if they do that he has all the power as less than a years contract left and could wait it out and leave on a free having proven himself in the Prem.

It’ll depend on the situation with Dovin. We’re not going into the PL with Wilson on the bench.
Don't we need to name 3 keepers? I assume if Dovin is fit and ready to go - he'll be number 2. He'd only just managed to hit his stride in the championship. No way we throw him straight in as a prem no1., ideally we could loan him out to a championship side, and sign 2 goalkeepers.

This is why i'd advocate someone like Trafford on loan if we can't get Rushworth

I wouldn’t be surprised if Dovin is loaned out and another couple of keepers brought in with Wilson let go.

Ramsdale may be possible (though I guess he just goes back to Southampton if they go up) as it seems that Newcastle aren't going to keep him, and will likely want Trafford as their new number 1 if he leaves Man City.

I'd be pretty happy with that if we can't secure Rushworth.

As for Wilson, he must be on peanuts relatively and seems happy as a back up at the club/ living in the area, so I reckon he stays round as no 3.

Assuming we sign Rushworth. I can see Dovin going out on loan and a fairly experienced keeper coming in as number 2 for a season, can't see Wilson going, pointless paying for a good keeper to be third choice when all he does is essentially kick balls in training and keeps the others smiling.

Whilst i'd be all for Ramsdale, and the quality is in no way comparable - isn't the reason Ramsdale was moved on by Arsenal because his footwork isn't great.

Also - I'm pretty sure hes openly said he loses concentration in games.

Would be madness to park him on the bench, he needs game time and we aren't in a position to give him that. Loan him out see how he goes. Worst case scenario we'd have a seasoned championship keeper on our books if we went straight back down

which would then make sense to keep Wilson to have some continuity, We would need 2 new goalkeepers if Dovin goes out on loan.

Why do we always mention existing players?
Hamer - No
Wilson - No
Maddison - No
Tommy Hutchinson - No 😂

We will have scouted most leagues, so the ones who may come in we might never have heard of.

Julian Gray still a maybe then?

Hadn't heard that before but googled it and you're right - might go some way to explain his odd career path so far.

Still think he's a decent keeper though, and the requirement to play out from the back should be less than at Arsenal.

Hopefully all a moot point if we can get Rushworth though

Don’t get me wrong Ramsdale is a good goalkeeper - and given he’ll be busy for us it might be that he remains switched on.

just a concerning trait for a goalkeeper
