I get the ‘job not done’ point, but football doesn’t work on loyalty like that. If we were heading to League One, most of the squad wouldn’t stick around out of principle — they’d move on.

Fans discussing who’s good enough for the next level isn’t ‘crass’, it’s just reality. Whether it happens now or after promotion doesn’t really change the conversation
