Planning to go a few times this year. Got my oversized top ironed and ready. usually go when they play the Panthers but I need to go to some home games. Had a few bevs a couple of yeas ago when i didn't understand the crowd rules...and tried to start a "get into them and feck them up" chant. It was met with a load of large sponge finger pointing by a lot of over weight people with over weight kids.
Ice breaker, perhaps?
Although clearly not on your part, CovKid.

Cup final tomorrow. A great achievement to get this far. I really like the coach and team a lot.

Does anyone know if there's anywhere in Cov that will be showing it?

Is it on premier sports?

I hate how season ends just before Stanley cup playoffs start. I always get in mood for live ice hockey just as season ends.

Its on Prem Sports (code EIHL2026 for 2 months half price), there's a stream on the Elite League website but its £18 or the New Albany are showing it.

We've been absolutely shafted. The whole tournament was played under a format that had seeding with the highest seed getting a home tie. Then the night before the 2nd leg of our semi final in Belfast, when they realised there was a danger it might not be one of the 'big 4' hosting the rules got changed so now we're playing Nottingham in Nottingham.

To add insult to injury despite claiming it was technically our home game we have been allocated the 3 away blocks and then any spares left over after their season ticket holders got their seats.

Should still be 1,700+ going over.

Can always come to Zurich and cheer on GB in the top tier of the world championships!
Some guy once upon a time told me when he went to Zurich he got ill cos it was such a clean environment he got his toxins out

I always believed him and just now I'm thinking about it and wondering if it's all nonsense 😂

Thanks for the tip, that might just do it.

I was reading about the fixture move and it is an absolute joke. I hope for that reason that we smash them. The big teams in the league always get kissed up to, and it isn't right.

So what is the challenge cup? Like a league cup?

Deserved a win…. Played really well. Not to worry… def good times on their way back. Looks like it’s up to the Sky Blues to deliver the silverware this year.

Absolutely gutted but they did us proud, put in a huge effort.

Hope covkid is right and we can continue the build of the last couple of years but I fear key pieces of our squad will be picked off by the big 4.

Only have to look at how our 'home' final was handled to see the extremes the league will go to in order to protect the big clubs. That's 24 trophies in a row gone to the big 4, got to go back to our play off final win to break that run. And before that it was a run of 15 so that's one trophy out of the last 40 that's hasn't gone to a big 4 club.

Massively holding the sport back IMO but when the people in charge of the league are the same people running the clubs its more about empire building than the future of the sport.

It does feel like every season the squad is having to be rebuilt from scratch and you can't build on that sort of squad turnover. We've shown that over the past 20 years. Last few seasons we've had good squad retention, added to with a bit of quality each season, and we're a much better team.

I know there used to be a bit pull for the team in terms of accommodating study at Cov Uni, but I don't think that's the draw it once was.

If the sports quarter in Birmingham were to actually happen I could see the team relocating there and they'd likely get help from the league to do so. Obviously I hope that doesn't happen.
