Fair assessment. I do still think he was fantastic for that long run of games and could see him being good in the PL (if he can get over his injury) but I respect your opinion

It's very simple. We want to sign Rushworth. Rushworth has stated that he would love to sign for us. Simple so far.
We know how to pick a player. Brighton already have experience in this
If they're willing to make him No.1 he stays. After the season Rushworth is having he will want to be No.1 in a Prem side. Another Championship loan won't do, and he won't be happy sitting on the bench.
It's down to Brighton. Rushworth is excellent considering he has never played for his own club. Do they risk making him No.1 or risk losing him? 20m is a lot for a player untried in the prem. He would be worth that much to us.

Brighton, established Premier League club, will cash in on Verbruggen, their current GK and the Netherlands No 1 and replace him with Rushworth next season? which I presume means they will sell Verbruggen. That's one hell of a gamble, and if we go up, and bid high for Rushworth thats essentially what they need to do. No way Rushhworth will be happy with being a back up next season if he knows we were in for him.

Personally, my belief is that if we want Rushworth and the price is reasonable, we’ll sign him. If we go up and go back down, Rushworth is fit for purpose even if he has a bad season.
For BHA, they need to keep being a solid midtable club that can push for European places… As you say, it’s risky for BHA to put their trust in an untested keeper in the Prem. Sunderland ditched Patterson when they got promoted who is having a great season himself at Millwall and we’ve been tenuously linked with.

I think the only way we get Rushworth is on a Wrexham type deal. We pay Brighton £75 million, make Rushworth our highest paid player and give Brighton an option to buy him back cheaply any time they like (within a window obviously) 
I hope I’m wrong and that we sign him because he’s a top goalkeeper and is key to our chances of survival in the Premier League next season.
If we can’t get him, then I would get in on loan the best goalkeeper we can and let him and Dovin fight it out for the shirt. It’s a real shame about Dovin’s injury because I think that, but for that, he would really have come on this season. He’s not as good as Rushworth but I reckon he has the makings of a very decent Premier League goalkeeper. I just hope his injury doesn’t prove to be a permanent setback to his career.

If we can land Rushworth I'd definitely look at loaning Dovin out to a top end Championship team with demands he is no.1. he's missed a year of development, wouldn't be fair to have him sat on our bench or stick him straight into first team prem football after that much time out of the game. He needs minutes
