don think so. think evo was just pointing he was grossly out his depth
Yeah fair enough I'll take it back. Apologies

As for johal I think when there is a glass ceiling the first guy to break through it(with an assist of ownership) will always be out of depth

Hopefully more follow in his footsteps now.

Likely, but I guess the problem seems to be with the amount of players from the same demographic, not too many breaking through on that front?

On a seperate note , why dont we see too many asian pro footballers in the uk ?

Cultural ? By that i mean bigger sports such as cricket
Nah not the cricket thing. Football much more popular with Asians in UK than cricket.

It's hard to put finger on it. Especially me a couch potato

But I'd say it's a mix of institutional racism holding players back, a lack of beliefs in the system from Asian players so go different paths but also I think all Asian clubs etc stop players becoming the best they can be by not playing with white and black players etc

Also genetics. How often do you see an Asian with a 6 pack? Even the cricket team best in the world have pot bellies lol. I honestly believe this. Like back sprinters are the fastest . Muscle twitch fibres and all that. I'm sure I've read Asian people store fat in belly easier than other races .

Maybe I'm chatting shit but it's my theory
Do it! just pull the trigger
No don't do it. You are evo. This journey was loved by Evo not Craig. You will regret it

Shame it didn't work out for him but by the end he was probably doing worse for the reputation of Asian coaches as he was clearly out of his depth and just got the job through his mates.

The FA have set a target to get BAME coaches through the national set up. Hopefully that starts to run through to the club game

I'm not Asian myself but found your response really interesting.

Seen a bit of Tier 5 Women's football and the teams and squads seemed more racially mixed including Asian women without noticeable performance level issues in any particular race.

I know racism hasn't gone away but are you saying that there are 'Asian clubs' in this country that will generally only play with a team of Asian players / men ?

If that is the case and I'm not out to make a point about whether or not that's possibly racist in itself - I wonder why in 2026, that separation / segregation is felt necessary or preferred - is it just that change isn't always easy to make or am I overthinking all of this ?

I will say we've discussed it in depth on here before and its an interesting topic which a lot of people have opinions on. But I went to India for work, spent a lot of time with a guy who's now a good friend of mine. He's football crazy, i think he actually played for Goa but it obviously didn't pay that well.
Anyway he basically just said yeh, genetics. Said "look at you and look at all guys here, that's why" 😆 i mean tbf I was pretty trim then (not now) but just my height, body shape etc. Fairly normal here, not there.
He also said the secondary issue was the facilities being crap. Although obviously that's not an issue for British based Asians.

I joined an 'Asian only' football team many years ago just before I moved to London, was literally only a couple of games as I wasn't planning on moving away when I signed up.
Got in because the Asian guy in our 5 a side team played for them and bought me and 2 others along as we wanted to get back into 11 a side again. Anyway thats some pointless back story, I suppose it is a bit weird when you think about it but it never felt racist, they were all good lads.

It's not a racist thing. How many Sunday league teams are all white? Loads. Most.

No Asian club says no white players. It's just people from same sorta background playing where they feel comfortable

Just like regulars at a pub all play together

But Asian players Asian coaches. I think can benefit from mixing it up

I've already been asked to enroll my son in a Indian footy camp. But tbh I'll try get him into christ the king or whatever other Sunday league teams there are in cov. Rather he plays with and against kids of different backgrounds. Just to make friends let alone get good at football!

Thank you for taking the post in the spirit it was intended.

I appreciated your honest opinion and I wasn't trying to be a dick about it so thank you - think everyone can benefit from mixing it up to be fair, works both ways.
I'm always happy to have these conversations

Some get rattled when race brought into it(maybe me included sometimes) but if you come from a good place it's all ok.

Btw Tomrad seems like one of my white mates from the sound of it lol
